I have oak leaf lettuce, parsley, arugula and herbs. I take the leaves as needed and leave the plant to produce more leaves.I have butter lettuce growing too. The plants reach maturity in about 45 days but I often take leaves before that time.It save money but is also good fun.I highly recommend this system and the suppliers. Their customer service is outstanding. For example, I had problems with the pump and they replaced it immediately.They offer great encouragement and sent me extra seeds to try. mine came with seeds ( assorted and all grew) and fertilizer/nutrients . I asked which one and they told me. I tried sealing them but I had to put this in the basement due to the leaking.
