It Wreaks Classic Zelda!
I’ve been a massive fan of The Legend Of Zelda franchise since its beginnings in 1986 completing every console Zelda game to date I didn’t get on board in 2017 with the release of ‘Breath Of The Wild’ anyways so of course I already have a copy of this ‘Links Awakening’ & like all of the rest of the Zelda console games it’s been fully completed but I’ve bought this second copy for my grandson who absolutely loves this game but he doesn’t have his own copy so I bought him the copy (pictured) here on Amazon (one of the only places were you can get a brand new copy at a decent & fair price) & I can not wait to see his face when I give it to him he’s going to be made up, he plays on this Zelda at mine way more than any other Zelda released on the Nintendo Switch, it’s this & Mario 3D All Stars (which is also available here on Amazon considering it was a limited amount released) so my grandson just happened to love two quite hard to get hold of expensive Switch games from its vast catalogue of games but he’s just going to love this brand new copy of ‘Zelda - Links Awakening’ as he did with Mario & he’s not bad at this game either, not at all & now he’s only going to get better (he’s nearing 8yo) having his own copy at home, it is a great classic style Zelda game with that angled birds eye view that arrived with the SNES’ excellent ’A Link To The Past’ all of the puzzles & the dungeons & the distinctive Zelda play are here & they’ll stand the test of time easily, it’s a very good game! A fine purchase for an amazing purpose.

You wouldn't think this games 26 years old
Yeh you read that correctly, Legend of Zelda Links Awakening is a remake of a classic Gameboy game that was released 26 years ago. I am still mind blown by this game by how creative and quality the game is. The story in itself is completely nuts and course the game puts you in the boots of the legendary link. I won't go in to many more details asa I will leave that up to you because if your in to a game where you love uncovering secrets and unlocking tools to progress in a video game then I have to say this is one of the best in the bunch. Yet this was created how long ago? Honestly on top of this I have seen alot of complaints about how long the game is but I garentee you most of the player base complaining have been using guides, PLEASE DO NOT USE A GUIDE, this game does not need a guide and more often then not the answers to the puzzles lay right Infront of you and when you figure them out it is so so satisfying. On top of that there is a HARD MODE, where the game doesn't give you heart drops and much stronger enemies... Yeh try getting through that one. Plus I feel the world is so creative and full of mysteries to uncover you will enjoy a second play through to really absorb everything that goes on in such a beautiful crafted game. Trust me if you haven't purchased this yet and love a great adventure then this is for you I believe it's worth the price 100% I have no regrets and only joy being gripped to my seat for the last 4 days playing it none stop. The only issue with the game is drops in frame rate, is that a game breaker? Absolutely not. Quickly what are you waiting for??

A briliant update of a classic
I had the original on the Game Boy back in 1993 and got this for my daughter to play in 2023 - still a fantastic game thats been updated with new graphics that keep the charm of the original. Aside from that its a fairly faithfull recreation (from what i remember) I cant be sure if new side quests or mini games have been added or just enhanced. Either way, a classic game from the golden age of gaming.

A gorgeous remake of the best Zelda game ever made
Zelda: Links Awakening was the first game I had on my Game Boy Color back in 1998. Being able to replay it on my Switch in this beautiful and faithful remake, is an utter joy. The graphics, controls, gameplay and music (a stunning soundtrack) are perfect. After breezing through the 4 dungeons in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, its refreshing to actually do 8 of them this time round, the last two being particularly challenging. I'm only hoping that Nintendo go and remake Oracle of the Ages/Seasons in the same style. They'll sell by the bucket-load! If you're a Zelda fan and never played the original, then take my word for it- go buy this. And if you have, like me, well, it's a helluva nostalgia trip!

First impressions - not bad, don't expect BOTW mind blowing game play
This review is after a few hours of play, I'll update as I get more time with it. (UPDATE at the bottom of this review). I'm 36 - I never played the original or any of the other Zelda games apart from BoTW which of course I love (best game I have ever played). So far it has been easy to put back down, its the sort of game I would have expected to be able to get on the Switch. Graphics are nice and bright and generally just good to look at. The price seems high when you compare to what you get with BoTW, but pretty standard for games these days it seems. My 8 year old boy seems to love the game and has found it immediately easy to play. He plays BoTW also but that took him a long time to master. I would therefore recommend this games for either the younger player or die hard Zelda fans. Otherwise you might not get as much from it. UPDATE: I've played this a few times and helped out my son when he gets stuck. Its very linear and formulaic (i.e. there's a specific order in which you can do things before progressing), so no open world here. For me its easy to put down and I can't see myself bothering to play it until completion. For comparison, I played BoTW to completion and then did loads of extras and became a bit of a completionist. I stick with my earlier recommendation that kids will enjoy it or Zelda fans who care about the history and folklore. For me its just not special enough to get my time.
