The Lisle 45750 Inner Tie Rod Tool is engineered to tackle tie rods with hard-to-reach wrench flats using a unique six crows feet system. Allows tie rods to be properly torqued.
Hot damn I love good tools! Functions very well. Seems very well made. Made the job much easier and allowed me to torque the inner tie rods.

good tool
i have used the lisle 58100 kit on 3 cars so far for inner tie rods and it worked flawlessly every time. The adapters fit snug on the tie rods with no slipping. I did have to use a 24 inch pull handle to break the tie rods loose on 2 of the vehicles and the tool shows no damage to the square hole. It appears to be made out of good steel and will probably last me a long time.

Expensive but highly effective
I bought this tool to work on the steering tie rods for a Toyota Mark 1 MR2. This required the 29mm insert which came with the master set but is not included in the intermediate sets (can be purchased separately). The tools is well made and well thought out. It extends considerably beyond the end of the MR2's tie rod so I had no problem attaching a torque wrench and setting the correct ft/lbs for my vehicle. The insert goes into the tie rod grooves and the tool goes over the tie rod and interlocks with the insert - a simple yet robust solution. This tool is particularly useful because (at least on my vehicle) it allows for replacement of tie rods without first removing the rack and pinion from the car. Due to the quality of construction I would rate this as a "lifetime" tool so well worth the investment.

Well made and easy to use.
Made in USA. Worked perfectly on my 1996 Mercury Villager/Nissan Quest. Simple to use and unless your wanted to drop motor mounts or whatever to free engine for lifting to attempt the process, it's almost a de facto necessity. I don't get where the price comes from in these master kits of specialized tools, but that applies to all kits and I'm not implementing that it's a bad price. The price is competitive with other kits out there. Then considering that Autozone charged the price of the kit as a deposit, I decided just to have one since I tinker on vehicles and have the option to loan to friends if needed. Great quality, nothing seems or looks like it has weak spots or poor craftsmanship and feels like it will last a long time under force pressure under use. Honestly it's legit and I recommend it.

Make sure you get the right kind of tool for your tie rods - round or flat
This tool will work with inner tie rods that have wrench flats - i.e., flat spots on the socket portion for placing wrenches or this kind of tool. However, many vehicles (including my 2006 Nissan Sentra) have stock inner tie rods without wrench flats. The socket portion is completely round and smooth. For that matter, the replacement inner tie rods I ordered are also round and smooth. So check your tie rods before you order a tool for them! If you have round ones, you'll need a different tool, like the Lisle 46600 Universal Inner Tie Rod Wrench or Cal-Van Tools 946 Low Profile Inner Tie Rod Tool . I ended up not using this tool because I had round inner tie rods. However, from look at it, it seems fairly solid and would have made the job somewhat easier had I been able to use it. There was a small hole in the weld between the socket receptacle and the metal tube.

Not worth it
I ordered a new tool and it came used and rusted on the inside. Welds on it were terrible as well.

Worked great on removing and installing my inner tie rods on ...
Worked great on removing and installing my inner tie rods on my 99 Toyota Corolla. The tube wrench locks in place on the crows feet and the 1/2 inch drive worked perfectly with my torque wrench. This tool set made easy work of the removal and installation of the tie rods. Definitely worth the money for the convenience and time saved not having to figure a work around with other tools. I maintain the philosophy of having the correct tool for the task and this set hits that nail right on its head. A bit pricey for the home mechanic but in my opinion it was worth the price. I bought this set with all the available crows feet so that I can use it on my Subaru and Jeep as well as help out friends if/when they need to replace their tie rods...buying the complete set beats the hell out of paying a premium for any needed crows feet in the future. I am glad I bought this.

I purchased this tool to replace a cheap chinesium inner tie rod tool that i purchase here who broke on first use. (Please read my other review) This lisle tool made this job a breeze to perform. The inner crows were perfectly matched for my Ford vehicles. The tool is made really solid and it shows that it’s made for real world mechanics. The bonus feature: if i ever need extra adapters, they are available from Lisle separately, no need to buy the whole tool again to get only one or two extra crow foot adapters. Purchase this tool with confidence. Update: i have performed a couple of jobs on different Ford vehicles with it. This is absolutely a PLEASURE to use! It feels solid and you know that the crowfoots will stand up to the task. I have purchased a couple of extra adapters from Lisle. The only thing i would like to see is a plastic case to store all my adapters.
