I agree. It is slightly padded. I have never worn a padded bra in my life. I was forever trying to minimize! However, I'm a DD and it really didn't seem to add much if any cup size. I can't tell any difference. I'm all about comfort and this bra is very comfortable. I especially like the fact that it doesn't go beyond 3 hooks. The more hooks you have the more underarm material width you have and the more cutting into your underarm you have. I'll take the padding because of the comfort and only 3 hooks. Plus it's pretty! **Q: Does this help smooth “back fat”?** A: Honestly not as good as a bra specifically made to smooth back fat. But that part of the back portion of bra is wider than a regular bra. I have back fat and I am comfortable wearing this bra and believe me I am self conscious. I do own a bra that is specifically made for this and I think the playtex holds it's own. I hope this helps. These are really nice bras. I am 5'4" and weigh 180 lbs. My weight is in my stomach and back. Gosh that sounds ugly but just to give you an idea. I wear a 42C. My favorite, which naturally has been discontinued, tended to run quite a bit snugger than this one, though cup size consistent. I have a couple of this current one and they are very comfortable, at least for me, and I especially appreciate that the straps stay where they're supposed to. I have a problem with many bra straps slipping down which I haven't had with this bra, and the straps are wide at the top, padded and comfortable. Nothing fancy about this one, just comfortable, good support and full coverage. Well made and Playtex bras last a long time. Ordered this from seller Bare Necessities and it was half the price of local retail stores plus free S&H and it arrived very quickly.
