OK, I'll admit I don't like reading instructions, and only decided to do so halfway through the install. However, once you put them up, and work out all the alignment issues, they really look great. In fact, the map is so big, that any small mistakes are barely noticeable. Overall took about 2.5hrs to install, and it really looks great. Gave our office an "african safari" feel... hehehe. P.S. The trick to an smoother install is to glue the panel and wait 10 minutes before applying it because it actually grows when it absorbs the paste. The other trick is to use a large trowel tool to smooth out the air bubbles and excess paste. Good Luck!

Know before you buy: FACTs: There are two versions of the map: A paper version and the write-on version Purchase both the paper version and the write-on version. I have installed the paper version as a trial and Love it. Size: Height: 8' 8", Width: 13', 8 panels (4 top, 4 bottom). Measure your wall several times Hanging: works best with two people installing the map and follow the directions. Time: Be prepared to spend at least two hours depending on the surface type and your method of install Provided Paste: Sufficient and works well on drywall with no issues. Follow the directions Hint: Unroll the map and place heavy objects such as books for at least 24 hrs. to flatten out the sheets Bottom-line: I would definitely recommend to a friend and it’s a great learning aid for young and old. Décor: Absolutely beautiful. P.S : Intend to use several coats of magnetic paint prior to hanging the write-on version and will let you know how that works out. I want to place magnets on the map instead of writing on it.

Finished product looks awesome! It was a bit intimidating when I saw how large the mural was but I tackeled it all by myself! Altogether it took me about 3.5 hours. It gives you 3 different options and I chose the "continent display" because it shows best on wall. Product came in with helpful instructions and paste. Make sure to saturate the wall paper with lots of paste and book it for 10 minutes...the paper will expand a little so don't freak out. Also, before you apply the paste make sure you have practised putting it on wall. DO NOT TRIM WHILE WET. Allow it to dry overnight before trimming any excess paper. I made the mistake of trimming a bit before it fully dried and I messed up the paper a bit. It's a very forgiving mural so you can't really see the mistake. All in all, it was not difficult and makes the room look incredible.

At the end, I was happy with the final product- but it took me about 5 hours to install. Suggest professional and due to stretching- some of my longitude and latitudes don't line up but it's not that noticeable. The end product is nice.

I did not paste this map up. I actually used small nails because I didn't have another pair of hands and didn't want the mess. It looks FANTASTIC! I folded sections back so I would have to cut it. Again, I was trying to get it done by myself in a decent time frame. The colors are bright, the detail is amazing...if you are worried it will be some low quality peice of junk, don't. It's the same map I've seen in some designer magazines (one in a child's room, one installed in a bathroom at a beach house) I posted a photo above, it's a little hard to see, but shows how bright it is in the far left corner of our basement (behind a tv)

I read all the reviews and was super excited. I am a pretty crafty person and followed the directions to a T, one panel at a time, booked each panel exactly 10 min and so on. My map was really pretty before it dried. I woke up to a crinkled peeling mess. I was told to overlap panels and I did but the panels still shrunk so much you can see my wall between nearly all the seams. The "wallpaper" is nothing more than paper so it looks just like a piece of notebook paper that has gotten wet then dried!! Stiff, crinkled and falling off the walls. I even talked through the installation process with the manufacturer prior to installation and it still looks so bad I have to rip it down!!! I will be calling them again today to hopefully get a refund but I am not so sure I will get one!!!

This is the THIRD World Map Paper Wall Mural that I have purchased over the past 13 years. As a S.S.teacher, this is one of the BEST teaching tools I have ever used. Students start learning from the minute they walk in my classroom, because this huge, beautiful, world map is greeting them every day. Furthermore, I use it as a reference every day while presenting my lessons. Thank you Amazon for making it so easy to purchase what I need to teach my classes :)

Very happy with product and end result. Don't be afraid to hang this paper, you can do it! Read the instructions and measure your area, then read and measure again. Get comfortable with instructions before you begin. My wall was able to fit the mural lengthwise and I had to cut off the top 13 inches. Tips: There are 8 panels, 4 top 4 bottom. Once wet the panels expand about .5 inch in all directions. When installed the top panels overlap the bottom by 1/4 inch, the right panels overlap adjacent left panel by the same. This paper is not meant to be hung with the edges butted together, must overlap. If you follow the instructions and start at the middle, you might need an extra pair of hands to accommodate overlapping. Once you are hanging your second sheet, your hands will be occupied holding the wet paper by the corners, then somehow you need to tuck panel under the other sheet to accommodate the overlap. That is where a helper would be nice. If you have the luxury of starting from the bottom left you won't need a helper since you would proceed with the panel above it, then move to your right with the next bottom panel and so on. My 14 year old applied the glue, (included and plenty left over) and my wife handed me the "booked" sheets. Knocked it out in 90 minutes, never hung paper before. Borrow wallpaper tools from friends, someone will have them so you don't have to go out and purchase. Large brush for glue, large wallpaper broom/brush to spread out air bubbles and seam roller. Don't worry much about small bubbles, paper will dry and tighten everything up. Good luck.
