Can you make your own custom designs and embroid them?

Yes you can, but you have to be careful with detail and size. I wanted to have a custom logo made for something. But due to the logo detail, I would have to have a machine that could do 5x7 to do it. The max size for this one is 4x4

Can this machine do vinyl and leather ? if not what machine in the brother line can?

Hi, Roy! The Brother PE-525 can embroider lightweight vinyl and leather, when using the correct size needle. Depending on the material, you'll want to use a size 14 or 16.
