I already had a scratch and I just opened it for 30 mins. If you are more careful than me, it’ll work for you. I wouldn’t mind it as much if I dog liked it. He spend most of the time facing the side or the back. The purpose of the purchase didn’t even work for me. I gave it a 4 stars bc it felt very sturdy and decent size room. Minus one for being so easily scratched. With this carrier, putting my cat inside takes about 30 seconds. And the backpack straps are comfortable and sturdy.To get her accustomed to the carrier, I opened the expandable back and left the small side door open. To my suprise, she actually uses this carrier as her favorite nap spot! The expandable back makes road trips a little bit more tolerable since she can stand up and turn around. If you have a small cat, this would be the ideal carrier!
