Blanket Answer 500g Blanketweed Treatment

5 stars The pond was fairly new when we moved into our house, first summer no major issues. This year we hit spring and wondered why I couldn’t see the bottom! Despite regular cleaning of filter and pumps Tried out Cloverleaf as it was recommended a few times on line, a few mixed reviews but started with this and glad we did Maths was a long time ago so took measurements and ChatGPT sorted out the litres, cleaned off the pump initially and 6 scoops for the approx 2400 litres. Bit of white foam for a day or two, I then cleared out the filter and as much of the blanket weed as possible, can now see bottom of the pond and algae well under control Fish happy, pond happy, I’m happy… recommended 👍🏼

For years i struggled with blanket weed and was put off by using chemicals. Wish i gave in early and just used this stuff. My pond plants were all totally fine and this stuff made short work of the blanket weed. Pond had white powder settled for a few days on everything (worried me at first) but after about a week it was gone and the blanket weed started to clear up. Every few days i checked was less and less until about a month in and i couldn't see any more blanket weed.

It helped a bit but I'm doing a second round as we still have blanket weed. It might be I just didn't use enough but we'll see what round 2 does.

This product was easy to use. I have a big pond so used nearly all the tub. The green in the pond nearly cleared within two days . However the water is left murky, which I hope the filter will clear, but my main concern is that every surface is covered in a powdery deposit, including the pond weed. I am concerned that this layer of powder will kill the underwater plants. The whole pond looks unsightly. I would not use a powder treatment again . This morning I noticed some blanket weed returning.

Used once so far. Not all blanket weed cleared as yet, so will give a second dose after another couple of weeks. Water is clear now though.

The bar is set low but this is the best product by far that I have found for treating blanket weed. It turns the water milky then the weed goes white and turns to slush. If your pond is heavily infested you may need two or even three doses to kill every thing off. I'm not totally convinced that it has no impact on plants as my water lilly leaves went bronze colour and began to die off after application.
