Effective and plant safe.
Definitely plant safe. I used this in my large outdoor lotus bowls, and my plants continued growing strong. They where very effective, killing off all the mosquitoe larvae in the bowls. I used it all summer and haven't made it more then 1/3 of the bag. So for my needs, it was a great deal.

Great for Fungus Gnats and Other Annoying Pests
I use these mosquito bits on the top layer of soil for my plants, and they really do help cut down on those tiny flying pests that like to show up uninvited. Super simple to sprinkle on and forget about. If you deal with fungus gnats or other little bugs in your indoor plants, these are worth having on hand.

No use for gnats larvae
I bought it to kill gnats in the plant pots. According to GPT, this is one of the most efficient methods. But the reality is it doesn't work at all.

Die fungus gnats
After a gross fungus gnat infestation that did not respond to other organic methods, I used this (made tea) and it worked wonders. After 2 applications, there is huge improvement. I am hoping with a third application, they will be gone (still using ne and insecticidal soap to kill adults too). Also said to have effect on japanese beetle larva so I tried that, too. We will see! Recommended!

Got for fungus gnats
I was given a recipe for mosquito bits tea, which is supposed to kill fungus gnat larvae. I didn’t have any luck with it.

Safe and effective
Mosquito bits and mosquito dunks just may be one of man’s best inventions. I love plants, but unfortunately I tend to bring home those pesky little gnats that sometimes come with them. Sticky traps work to keep them contained to the plant, but it doesn’t stop the endless gnat cycle. These stop the problem at the source. As a pet owner, I’m always cautious when it comes to pest control. The great thing about mosquito bits is that they are completely harmless to cats and dogs. Ranchers even dump it in the troughs for their livestock to keep mosquitos out of their water. Safe, effective, and affordable.

Works great in Mosquito dunk traps
Moved to Phoenix, AZ area last year. The mosquitos were brutal, making it hard to enjoy the patio and pool. After much research, I decided to try this. I placed out two 5 gallon buckets on opposite sides of the back yard. Threw in a couple handfuls of dead weeds, leaves, etc., filled buckets half full with water, and allowed it to ferment in the sun a couple days. The buckets were then moved to areas that received shade all day long. Within days there were well over a hundred egg layings (meaning thousands of eggs) in the buckets. A few days after adding more water, there were thousands of mosquito larvae swimming about the buckets. Sprinkled about a tablespoon of these mosquito bits in each bucket, and within two days every last one of them was dead. Not a bit of movement in the bucket....and more eggs had been laid. Family not 10 miles away have already been bit to heck this summer. I have received one bite since putting these buckets out. I had worried that these "mosquito kill buckets" might make things worse, since we are obviously attracting a lot of mosquitos, and the female needs a "blood meal" in order to lay their eggs. But so far this has not been the case. It has been quite the pleasant summer so far. Last summer we were running thermacells in the patio, had electronic mosquito zap traps out, and were constantly covering ourselves with mosquito repellent spray....and still getting bit up like crazy. We've not (so far this summer) used any of those methods once, and are all but bite free. The true test is coming up with the monsoons and impending "mosquito season" this late summer and fall. But so far, seems to be working spectacularly.

Stopped the fungus gnats in my house plants
These are a game changer!!! They add no smell to the soil, they are safe around humans and pets and have kept the fungus gnats I was battling away for months now after 2 treatments. The first killed the adults the second killed any missed eggs and larvae. A little goes a long way.
