tado ° Smart Climate Control V3+ – WiFi Air Conditioner Control – Compatible with Air Conditioners or Heat Pumps with Infrared Remote Control – App Management – Smart Home

My Smart AC controller arrived today and installation of the device on the app was not completing. The problem was that the the controller could not be installed on the app using iOS. That problem has now been resolved and I have been able to fully install the controller. It works well and will be very useful when returning home on hot days to cool down the home before arrival. Great to have heating (radiators) and cooling with AC all controllable remotely with the app.

Works great. I already had one from before. That was awkward to set up and I needed a lot of help from support to get it working properly-they were great though. These next three were super easy to set up once I knew what to avoid doing wrong. Can talk to my air conditioner via Siri now-although for full functionality and options (fan speed-swing-dry mode) I need to go via tado app. I guess that limitation is Apple’s area to improve upon.

A key issue that many will have is that this need to be mounted on a wall facing the AC unit. This is because it will effectively be working like an AC remote sending InfraRed commands to the AC unit. Therefore if you have a big room and cannot angle the unit opposite the AC head you will struggle to get it working. This is on top of the central design flaw in the product. I have had these devices for over a year and I've given up. This product looks great but the single underpowered RF Bridge (the bit to talk to connect the various devices to the internet) is a huge technical flaw in the entire product. The fact that you can't add additional bridges means the product has limited range. The vendor is aware of this problem but refuses to address it citing the amount of work that would be required. The forums are full of people with devices that fall out of range. I've invested heavily in this product (over £1000) but I am very disappointed that rooms drop off the wireless connection resulting in them not getting instructed to turn on/off - this leaves you with hot or cold rooms. The devices themselves look great and when they are in range are good; but the fact that they are in fact dumb (aka not smart) means they must be connected at all times to the internet to work. The alterative being that they held their schedule on device and only needed the internet for updates to that schedule. As it stands they must be connected to get told to turn on and off. Such a shame, as the vendor seems happy to take the money of new customers knowing that there are structural flaws in the product.

This unit took me about 10 minutes to install and update, and it worked immediately to control the Mitsubishi AC in my bedroom. It added easily to Apple Home and Alexa too. Very happy and also quite surprised at the ease of setup.

On its own the control via the app is a little confusing, the control panel on the device is a little better but not great. Was easy to set up and does work, however its smart integration is hit and miss, often not working (but this may be down to the smart system i'm using). We got it so we could control an aircon unit remotely. Does the job, if a little inconsistantly.

This little GEM works a treat on my Toshiba air con, no more worrying that it's been left on, simply check the APP. However don't use the remote that came with the unit as the Taco unit doesn't receive it only transmits a signal, so stick it in a drawer and don't use it. I've had no issues with it. switch it to my desired temp for a set time and set the schedule on a base temp so once the timer runs out the unit reverts back to whatever setting you want to leave it on,

Excelent controller, easy to install, setup and get up and running. However, homekit integration is a bit lackluster, and in both homekit gadget and standalone app, there are some glaring features missing, like ability to set swing on ac, and fan only mode, etc...

L'aspetto è un po da cinesata con le lucine al posto dello schermo che fa un po' anni 90 ma alla fine non ha nessuna importanza, si usa sempre l'app e il dispositivo lo si dimentica. Ottima l'App. Le possibilità di programmazione sono notevoli e il funzionamento quasi perfetto. Trovo molto utile il grafico giornaliero di tutti i valori. Una cosa negativa del funzionamento è che per cambiare i parametri del condizionatore occorre registrare il telecomando sia in Cold che Heat (anche se ne usate uno solo dei due) e non è semplicissimo registrare il telecomando. Sarebbe buona cose dividere le due memorizzazioni. Un'altra cosa molto utile sarebbe poter programmare la potenza della ventola insieme alle temperature. Direi che questo è l'unica mancanza che si nota nell'utilizzo. Gli unici veri problemi riguardano l'installazione. Ho avuto due problemi non segnalati ne rilevati che mi hanno fatto perdere ore al punto che stavo quasi per restituirlo. Alla fine verificando le impostazioni del router mi sono ricordato del canale (13) che alcuni dispositivi EU non rilevano e infatti era quello il problema iniziale, solo che poi ha memorizzato una rete AC (non supportata) e non c'era modo di andare avanti. C'è voluta un'altra ora di ricerche e tentativi per riuscire ad'azzerare tutto e ricominciare. Davvero poco intuitivo e sottolineo che sono uno "smanettone", generalmente installo tutto senza nemmeno aprire le istruzioni, qui nemmeno con i manuali e le FAQ online...

La aplicación muy completa y hace su papel perfectamente. Tiene un porrón de mandos preconfigurados pero no Daitsu (de las más vendidas en España). 2 horas para grabarle las 260 veces q le tienes q dar con el mando. Y no te equivoques. Eso si una vez terminas, una gozada. Llegar a casa y q este fresquta en verano y calentita en invierno, no tiene precio. En la versión actual (tengo ya 3) en el primer toque de mando lo reconoce. El problema es que no tiene la opción que hace que mueva el aire arriba y abajo. Se pone a moverlo y en la habitación no quería q se moviese. Otro punto en contra es la opción táctil de apagar. En teoría tocas durante dos segundos y se apaga. Bueno, pues va cuando quiere. Respecto a la integración con Alexa va genial!!

Tout d'abord j'ai des climatisations DAIKIN de 2006. Télécommande reconnu et j'ai tous les menus. L'application Tado est bien foutu, j'utilise Meross également, et Maison avec Apple mais je n'ai pas encore de concentrateur donc obligé de passer par les applications fabriquant. Pour le moment les applications des fabriquant sont mieux que Maison. Que dire de Tado, la synchronisation et reconnaissance du boitier, suffit de suivre ce que l'application vous dit de faire, c'est donc très simple. L'application est complète, possibilité d'avoir un abonnement, mais sans abonnement vous pouvez déjà piloter de là ou vous voulez (ON/OFF) + tous les menus de la télécommande (volets, réglage température, auto, soufflerie, chaud froid ventilation déshumidificateur) vous pouvez faire vos plannings de la semaine, et ça c'est top du top, je me calque à mes heures creuses et nos horaires de travail et lever du matin. Le mode absent c'est top avec géolocalisation, vous êtes à 500m de chez vous l'application vous demande de basculer en mode Maison = allumé les consignes de chauffage. Vous partez on vous demande de passer en mode Absent = bon faut s'assurer qu'il n'y a personne, mais pour cela, suffit de rajouter des utilisateur, chose faite = madame et la fille, le dernier qui part reçois la notif Absent (a vous de mettre le choix quand il y a personne, moi j'ai mis chauffage à 18° mais vous pouvez stopper tout). Ce que j'apprécie c'est le boitier, un peu d'affichage digital, mais ce boitier est aussi un capteur, il mesure la température mais aussi le taux d'hygrométrie et ça c'est cool. De ce que j'ai compris, Tado prends des informations du web, pour savoir s'il fait froid dehors ou pas, si c'est ensoleillé, et ajuste votre chauffage. Bref avis déposé après 1 journée, je suis super content, espérons que ce soit fiable dans le temps car pour rembourser 80€ sur les économies d'énergie je doute qu'en 3 mois ce soit rentabilisé. A mesurer. J'ai acheté un seul boitier car j'étais pas sur que mes climatisations seraient compatibles, oui j'ai 4 splits dans 4 pièces, mais vu que cela fonctionne au top, j'en ai pris un 2e, les autres viendront petit à petit car ça reste un budget. Tado = le câble entre l'alimentation et le boitier devrait être plus long (+1m) De 79.90€ on est passé à 99€ en 3 semaines = Honte à vous !!!

Dit najaar een airco geplaatst gekregen. Omdat ik alles al van Tado heb, is het een logische keuze om ook de airco versie aan te schaffen. Wel even wennen dat dit een bedrade versie is, maar niet storend. Het mooie is dat ik nu overal de temperatuur, luchtvochtigheid etc goed in beeld heb en nog beter kan reageren. Product doet wat het moet doen.

The Tado is an awesome product. It integrates with HomeKit and Google Home. The TaDo app is just fantastic (if that is your preference as well). The HomeKit integration was a little more complex and the instructions are lacking (the trick is remembering that you need 2.4g Wi-Fi and connected to the same wireless point), but once I worked them out it has not failed me yet. Highly recommend.
