Dimensions 'Hydrangeas and Sea Shells' Counted Cross Stitch Kit, 14 Count White Aida, 11" x 12"

I can't wait to start stitching this design front Dimensions. I had finished this cross stich design a few years ago and gave to my sister. This time I want to stich for myself.

Pattern is easy to read and all floss colors are included. If you run out of a color you can contact Simplicity (who owns Dimensions) and they will send you some more, but they usually provide more than enough. They will also send you a DMC conversion list if you request it.

Actually I've already stitched it. The Domensions kits are of a high quality. Chart is very good readable. Nice colors and a lot of pleasure from the cross stitching process!

I love this design but it is definitely for an ambitious intermediate to advanced stitcher. Multiple color thread changes and blended colors makes it interesting to keep the thread organized. The Aida cloth is very stiff, hard to get a needle thru. The colors of the thread included are really beautiful for the shading present in the design but is not the best quality, especially if you are used to working with DMC cotton or silk threads. The thread does cover well with 2 threads, which I was surprised about with the stitch count of the fabric. I would suggest making a copy of the chart and using a highlighter to color completed areas - makes it easier to keep track of where you are working on the complex chart. The chart itself is not difficult to read, clear with different symbols.

While I wouldn’t recommend this kit to beginners, it’s one of the quicker projects I’ve done. Good quality materials with easy to follow instructions. Some kits don’t supply enough floss, but this one has plenty!!

This is an excellent cross-stitch project. The colors are eye-catching and the picture is lovely. But this is NOT for beginners. It's about 15 inches square and very complicated. If you are really beginning, start with something much smaller. The included needles were awful so purchase that separate.
