It Works!!
I’ve been suffering from skate bite/lace bite for the past couple of weeks. Very painful when skating. I was skeptical when I saw this and even more so when it arrived. I was amazed at how well this worked. Absolutely no pain while skating, even during double-header. I can’t say enough good things about this.

Absolute Essential for Treating Lace Bite
These pads cured my lace bite. I don't typically leave reviews, but these bunga pads had such a positive impact on my injury that I felt compelled to do so. I purchased expensive Bauer skates last year in hopes that they would provide me with top notch performance and comfort. I play hockey 2-3 times per week, and after about 7 months, I started having chronic lace bite on my right longus tendon (the tendon that attaches the muscle running down your lower leg to your big toe) It was so bad that every time I bent my knee, which is standard form in hockey, I would have to straighten my leg or transfer all of my weight to my left skate. It was HORRIBLE. I did some research and found a few solutions.. a) stop skating for a while (not an option due to pure stubbornness) b) see a doctor (I'd rather not) c) try bunga pads I read some mixed reviews, but decided that C was my best option. I started wearing them and continued to skate at my normal interval. They dramatically reduced the pain during my first use, and my lace bite was completely gone after about 3 weeks. These are absolutely invaluable. I still continue to wear the bunga pad for preventative maintenance and it does not cause any sort of discomfort. I can't even tell that I am wearing it. If you are experiencing chronic lace bite, do not hesitate on this purchase. I cannot recommend these enough.

All Bunga No Bite
I need to be clear- my lace bite made it almost unbearable to skate. Half my strides I was in agony. So did these completely eliminate the bite for me? - No. But they SIGNIFICANTLY improved my tolerance. With off season coming up soon, so I expect recovery with time off. Great product.

Works great for lace bite, holds up in washing machine.
My son had terrible lace bite from his hockey skates. This works great. He’s been wearing one for over a year on one ankle. Then he got lace bite on the other ankle so I bought a couple more. I put them in a mesh wash bag and throw them in the washer and dryer. I’ve been washing one of them for a year like that regularly and it’s still fine. I bought a cheaper knock off and my son didn’t like it at all.

A little expensive but absolutely worth it.
Let me preface this with I only started playing ice hockey a few months ago. The skates I have are not the best and do not offer much protection as far as the tongue goes. Before I had these I would get skate bite every time I play. Since I started wearing them I have 0 issues with skate bite. In fact, I played without them one time and I got sores on the top of my ankles. I'll never play without these again until I buy new skates.

Order TWO - one for each ankle
Description of item is misleading. Unit Count: 1.0 count Number of Items: 2 ---- About this item Sold as one sleeve ------ item count pull down menu - 1 thru 10 So... EXACTLY how many can I expect to receive? One or Two ?? I ordered ONE figuring this would be sold as a PAIR - as in TWO items. Nope - received only one item. Not sure if this is for the left or right ankle, so I am forced to order another one. I would like to know who else only buys ONE SOCK at a time. Will follow up with an actual product review once I receive the second sleeve. First impressions upon unboxing - It is a simple sleeve with an internal rectangular shaped gel pad on one side. It is NOT a 'foot shaped' item as one may believe from the picture. Thin material, but then skating socks are advised to be thin.

Exactly like the product description says
First off, I bought this in a frantic mode trying to find something to cure my ailing lace bite that my new skates had given me. Fortunately, it was only on one foot, so I only needed one of these. They're pretty expensive for what they are (and there are other cheaper solutions), but I was desperate and had it shipped next day (thank you Prime). My lace bite was so bad that I couldn't even imagine putting a skate on, and after playing in 3-4 games a week it was unbearable. I didn't get this product looking for a cure, and that's not what I got. I got it looking for relief, and the hopes of not feeling anxious about being able to skate at 50% because of the pain. It definitely helped relieve a little bit of the pain, but unfortunately I had already done the damage. Took a week and a half off to let my foot heal up and tried this out again. Much better. Like the title says, this is a PREVENTER, not a CURE...although if you've ever had severe lace bite all you can focus on is a cure!! I'd definitely recommend getting this if you have skates that are giving you lace bite problems. You may have to take a little time off from skating to heal up, but this should definitely help when you get back to it.
