However, this Slingbox works flawlessly and I wasn't ready to spend $200 on a new one that had mixed reviews from consumers. I immediately went to the Slingbox website to see if there was a fix for this issue and found that the remote control not responding is probably a result of the IR blaster on my cable box not communicating with the device. I performed tests recommended by Slingbox and discovered that the bulbs at the ends of the IR blaster cable had burnt out. I was able to order a replacement IR blaster; however, it was different than the original one that stopped working. When I received the replacement, I thought the vendor had sent me the wrong IR blaster. Anyway, I proceeded to connect the blaster to the Slingbox and affix the ends to front of the cable box. At first nothing happened. I went ahead and rebooted the Slingbox and to my surprise, it worked immediately. In fact, the responsiveness of the remote control appears to be smoother with the new IR blaster. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great.
