Bottom line: seems to be the real NI USB GPIB adapter.
I’ve been using hpib/gpib equipment for almost 40 years - I’ve had real HP and NI adapters of all types (Mac/pc bus cards, serial, usb adapters, HP, NI, and a couple others in the dim past). I’ve use both NI Max , Labview, C, & Python. Yes, I have two counterfeit adapters (work in Win7, not 10/11) inherited from another group. For about 1/3 of the NI price I was skeptical this unit but I figured if it didn’t work I’d return it. Bottom line: it worked on my Win11 box with Labview 15 and NI Max (2025) already installed. Came up with no complaint, Device Manager saw it as a USB-GPIB-HS drive, self test through NI Max was fine. Hooked up to a SRS DS345 signal generator, ran a simple sweep using a gpib VI - worked as it should. Next step is to hook up to the rest of my gear (old Hp 8563E, two Lecroy scopes, an HP RF sig gen, and a Anritsu RF sig gen). I’ll update if there are problems but this unit seems to work like an authentic NI adapter. (6/2025)

Dies in few months if you leave it connected to a computer over time.
I have purchased three of these and use them to connect to various equipment. One of these is used intermittanly and is otherwise it is off (disconnected). The other stays connected to another Spec An and it is always pluged in (24/7). That one has now died for the second time after seveal months working great. I can't reccomend this product, and I believe they are all counterfit (if you open it, the part number has been laser ethched away - that's a big tell right there). I cannot afford to throw $160 twice a year to keep a working interface. This is ridiculous and very frustrating.

USB to GPIB? IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!!
Hard to believe this USB to GPIB adapter was CHEAPER than a GPIB add in card! And it works perfectly! No issues at all. Plugged it in and was back in operation in no time!

Could be counterfeit cable
I work at National Instruments and deal with counterfeit cables all the time. Verify the serial number of the product before purchase or else it will not function correctly with driver software.

It really works
I hesitated for few weeks before placing this order. Because similar cable shipped by Keysight or National Instruments is 5-10 times more expensive. I had few error messages when cable was first plugged in. But I succeeded to find workaround. This cable works in my application. I ask my colleagues who ordered this cable to share their stories
