I don't feel like it is perfect, but I gave it 5 stars because it is good enough and my main complaint is not with the actual enclosure so much as my problem is with the acrylic screws. The actual pieces for the device are perfectly cut and seem to mate up pretty well. I had plastic plugs still in the holes but they were still cleanly cut so very easily pushed out. Not really a big issue in my opinion.I have two minor complaints. The first being that, while putting it together, I noticed a burnt odor. It is actually pretty strong. Strong enough to make me wonder if something was actually burning before smelling the part and realizing it was actually coming from the plastic. It's not a major inconvenience but I guess depending on your need it could be.The second complaint is that, while it didn't seem obvious at first, the pieces actually had black on the edges. My fingers had some pretty funky black designs on them by the time I had gotten the paper peeled off. Because of this you need to be careful when assembling it or else you will get smudges in places you likely don't want them to be like on the clear or white pieces.My major complaint is with the screws. They are terrible. Mine did work, so I can't really give them negative marks for that, but I do not like them at all. They are very tough to screw with your fingers, tough to line up perfectly, and can be VERY easily destroyed by a screwdriver. I would have loved to have seen some actual metal screws instead of the plastic but it isn't a huge problem, I suppose. Just be REALLY careful with the screwdriver.WARNING: The enclosure is full of holes. It is really just meant to hold the Edison and development board. It does not hinder access to any button or connector on the board and everything is pretty well lined up. Don't buy this is to protect the Edison or to use the Edison in a place where dust, dirt, or moisture is concerned. It certainly does the trick as needed.The paper backing that the prior reviewer complains about is basically the same thing on any plastic. It is easy enough to remove if you use a razor blade at about a 20º angle to start an edge and then peel gently with your nails.Yes, it's not a prefab box... but if you wanted everything preassembled and ready to go, I don't see why you're using embeded electronics, let alone an Edison board which is about the least documented of the iot options. i would have preferred metal bolts, however if you are careful not to cross thread the plastic nuts screw on as well as can be hoped. I do like that I could bolt this inside a project inside the case if I choose because of how they are arrayed.The board is gripped between layers of plastic, not just by the ports as alleged by a prior poster. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Strong Form Fitting *by K***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 5, 2016* My enclosure came in perfect condition - the acrylic is professionally cut with no burns or chips. The machine screws are steel and not the nylon ones others have complained about.It's a simple jigsaw puzzle with 6 layers of acrylic which is easily assembled just looking at the picture and matching the outlines of your Edison board. The hardest part was pulling off the protective tape, it's that easy to put together.The individual pieces of acrylic are flimsy ( as expected for that thickness), however once you assemble enclosure it's very sturdy and there is ZERO wiggling of your board. The board is sandwiched in between the plates and the enclosing plates provides about 1/2 in thick exoskeleton. I gave it a torsion twist and bend test and tried to wiggle the board around - it's solid.For aesthetics I would have preferred all clear acrylic; but I honestly don't care about that at all.It's the sturdiest, best fitting acrylic enclosure I own for microcontrollers and provides excellent protection from accidental contact with the edison board components. You can easily swap out the screws and mount this on anything you want.
