Tormek SE-76 Square Edge Jig

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. I have a lot of edges from hand plane blades to chisels and for whatever reason most of them have ended up out of square. I assume it was my old honing guide and grinding setup has caused this issue because every blade is out of square the same amount. When I first started using this jig I initially thought this was grinding the bevels uneven and ended up triple checking everything, including re-truing my stone. Once I started on another plane blade that was grinding the same exact way I thought I'd throw a square on my edge. Come to find out the Tormek setup was grinding perfectly square and all my blades were out of square which makes sense now that I think back to the adjustments on my planes. They all are adjusted slightly to the right to compensate for this out of square. So I currently have gone through and fixed 4 of my blades with a few more left to go. Each blade took about 10 mins due to the amount of steel that I needed to remove. IMO this is plenty fast enough and I couldn't be happier with my new setup.

Excellent for honing secondary edges on chisels and plane blades. Hard to square up some chisels. Once squared, works as advertised.

It was one of the Top of the Line sharpener I ever bought... A little expensive for me but I got to have it and I have not regrets. I have sharpened my Step-son dull knives and his sister and they said that their knives cuts like a sharp knife should. They are very happy and please now no embarrassing when they slice their turkey and beef in front of their dinner guests... I would HIGHLY recommend that you buy one because your knives will be the sharpest knives in the neighborhood. Easy to use...

I purchased a Grizzly 10" wet grinder. Based on information in reviews of the Grizzly, I purchased the Tormek jig before really learning how to use the jig with the Grizzly grinder. After sharpening many tools over the past 6 months, I do not find the Tormek jig to be any better than the Grizzly jig. I also purchased the Tormek WM-200 Anglemaster, TT-50 Truing and Dressing Tool, and the SP-650 Stone Grader, which I find to be 5 star products. FYI I find the Grizzly grinder works well and will use most of the Tormek accessories. Edit 4/10/13 - Having had the opportunity to use this jig more, I downgraded the rating from 3 to 2 stars. This jig has problems with thinner stock, like Stanley plane blades. If you don't keep the clamping jaw absolutely square while tightening on thin blades, the jaw on one side bottoms out. The blade feels snug, but I have had several slip after several strokes across the wheel. It's very frustrating to have to set everything up again. The Grizzly jig actually works much better with these thinner blades. I don't recommend this jig.

I teach woodworking at a local community college. We use Tormek equipment for student instruction so I am aware of the quality of the product which must endure student use and abuse. Based on this knowledge, I purchased the Tormek system for my home use.

I use this jig on the wrong brand of grinder, so I'll just say that this is a solid piece, square where it needs to be.

Worked better than I imagined. Did in ten to fifteen minutes what would've taken an hour on my wet stones. Very well built. Worth the money.

Works great! Tends to run off the edge of the support bar of my Grizzly sharpener if I don't pay attention.
