8' Diawa 802ms Spinning
I got the eight foot length my go to size for boat casting to bass and bluefish in saltwater. I like glass rods do to the toughness and loading casting lures and jigs. I belive the tip half is fiberglass the butt half may be a composite of glass and graphite but im not 100% sure on that. Decent guides and wraps. Eva foam is good. Like the cork butt . I may contact cement the ferrel and make it a 1 peice. Soft tip might lend its self to livelining baits may give it a go trying that. Good quality for a low price . The test will be if it can land 10 .lb + bluefish and 20 .lb + Stripers. I will come back and give it 5 stars if it does.

Beautiful Rod and Lightweight
I actually purchased the Heavy model with extra long handle. I have not had a chance to use this rod yet but intend to use it for casting Stripers and Bluefish and I think it will work perfectly. I like the fast action on the tip and the long handle should really help casting distance. I am pairing it with a penn 4000 spinning reel but you could probably go up to a 5000 if you wanted too. The rod is very light and you should be able to cast all day without being too fatigued. It look very sleek, with a flat black finish and fuji guides. I will likely purchase the medium model for fluke fishing.

Excellent Handling
I bought the daiwi back bay rod to match my back bay reel, smacked on 20 pound j braid, went fishing with it on the pier, Caught a 50 pound stingray, took almost 10 minutes to reel it in, caught a nice sized Spanish mackerel, and hooked onto an awesome Kingfish

Perfect
Perfect (long) handle, (high) power, (extra fast) action, (7’6”) pole length, (smooth) guides, (light) weight. Worth the price. Shipping was quick, packaging was protective with attention to details. Only used lightly once. No complaint at the moment.

It's a budget rod
It's a budget 8 foot rod. Good casting distance with vintage BG30 Diawa. Rod feels solid and could use a little more action. But all in all for a 2 piece rod at this price I am happy. I have used it from the beach and boat...multipurpose rod.
