Great Brush, saves you some dough, loads well!
What I like: Loads well, inexpensive What I haven't seen that others complained about: I did not have any sort of foul smell emitting from my brush. I have not had hairs falling out en masse. In fact, I can say I have only noticed 3 hairs coming out of it. Quite easily within the threshold of normal. I have put it in water hotter than some have recommended. Why not? It wasn't $250+, right!?! I try not to soaking in steaming water, though. Glues have a tolerance that can be reached. Don't want to push it too much. I also haven't noticed anything else negative reports have, um, reported... Best brush ever made? Probably wouldn't get a lot of believers in a statement like that. But, worth the asking price? Absolutely! You can spend more for just as good, or worse quality. 15 bucks, hell yeah! Get it! Unless you are an absolute brush snob, you may then not appreciate what it is, in which case, you do need to spend more to get whatever it is you are seeking in a brush. For the rest of you, I will say I am quite satisfied with what I received.

Surprising Good Brush
I purchased this badger hair shaving brush for my toiletries bag for travel. And I have been using it at home to break it in before I travel in late April. And I am very pleasantly surprised at the quality. It not a Simpson or even a Parker, but it’s a marvelous little brush with soft Badger Hair, a nice little knot that does not shed. It feel very nice, lathers up my shaving soaps and cream very nicely and does the job. And for the price… this little brush is an amazing value. Very happy with my purchase.

Incredibly Soft, Comfortable, Value for Money
The bristles are incredibly soft and the brush maintains its shape after each use. No weird smells or sharpness. A complete pleasure to use. I've been using it for 2 weeks so I cannot comment on what some have regarding the paint cracking. I would recommend not submerging this completely in water to preserve the product life -- this includes the handle and the area the bristles connect into the handle. I haven't really experienced loose pieces coming out. A possible explanation is some buyers are not properly blooming their shave soaps and lathering too aggressively. Also, don't forget to wet the brush. After each use you should either use a mount or lay it on its side. If you lay it directly on the brush side when wet it'll ruin the spread of the bristles. For a price near 10 bucks this is an absolute bargain and functions just fine. A great introductory buy to get into this kind of shaving without breaking the bank.

It whips up a fine, lasting lather in short order and gently applies ...
I've returned to wet shaving with a double edge "safety" razor after 40 years of disposables and electrics. Therefore, I've also returned to spicy aftershave, soap in a mug and a badger brush. The experience has been every bit as pleasant as I remembered it, and more. A major part of that pleasant experience is working up a lather of quality soap and gently painting on my face. This brush has proved to be more than "up to the task". It whips up a fine, lasting lather in short order and gently applies it where I meant it to go. The brush rinses clean, dries straight and fluffy, and has shown no tendency to develop mold or mildew. Except for lousing a few hairs the first time I used it (which is to be expected) this Shaveway brush has been the fine shaving accessory. There are more expensive, more ornate brushes, made from a surprising array of more exotic materials out there, but in my opinion, there are few (if any) that can do a better job of preparing my face for the razor. If a good shave is your goal, then Shaveway is a good choice.

Decent for the price but not long lasting
Entry level badger hair brush that does the job initially but quickly starts to fall apart (literally) with frequent use over a 3 month period. The first 2 months is a dream but after that the honeymoon period is over and the brush is no longer useable due to an annoying level of shedding that gets in the way of a proper shave. Not a bad buy if you are just getting into razor shaves but would suggest other brushes beyond that.

Perhaps I am learning and adjusting but not sure I will continue UPDATED July 2024
My late father used a shaving brush and I still have the handle from MANY years ago. I am not sure what prompted me to finally buy one of my own. I got this and it is beautiful to look at. However when I started using it I broke out almost immediately. After about three weeks I put it away but decided to try again about 4 months ago. I did not break out but it is shedding. In the last month I have long and short hairs/bristles every time I shave. I am using an olive oil soap and whisk it gently in the palm of my hand. I do like the lather but am not pleased at the loss of bristles this soon. I will see how long it lasts before I decide if I will buy again. (Online it says at least two years... and often longer... this is far less). UPDATE: It is now July 2024 and after losing bristles as it was getting broken in, it has been stable for a while and works well. At this point I would recommend this.

Has to be broken in
I've only used this brush a few times. First time, I was not impressed. Compared to my other badger brush, it didn't seem to hold NEAR as much water, and the bristles were much stiffer. Second use... it held more water, and the bristles had softened a bit. After about uses, the bristles seem about as soft as my other brush, but it still doesn't hold quite as much water. I expect that in after another 4 or 5 uses, it will be about the same as my other brush. It's a great value, but it takes several uses to "condition" it.
