I’m glad I picked the complete lid! Two reasons: 1. The padding on this is twice that of the stock padding, its way more comfortable! I had to replace my old leather because my elbow finally wore a hole in it. 2. While taking the screws out of the old lid where it attaches to the console, I found I had two broken screw holes. Which means my lid was about to fail soon anyways. Ok 3 reasons, no pulling the old cover off and then gluing a stapling the new one!Color match, black is black, but this is more of a matte black than a shiny black. It’s also not 8 years old and well used yet. Unless you’re looking for it specifically, no one will notice. The only reason anyone notices the new lid is when they put their elbow on it and it’s way more comfortable than stock.Construction; the stitching looks decent, we’ll see how it holds up. The screw holes for the hinge didn’t line up very well at all. They would have lined up but the plastic pins that go through the mount wouldn’t let them. Hold it away from the hinge, push the screw through the metal hinge, the push the lid up to it. Screw in half way until all screws are in, then you can tighten them up. Also, the plastic piece on the top is too big for the rubber pad. Not that big of a deal. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Just what I wanted. *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2019* So far so good. The lid got to me fast and fit right on my console. The screws used were the cheap Chinese metal ones but they don't really take much stress. I still replaced them with the original Canadian screws though. Fits and works fine and much less expensive than a dealer or after market seller. Much easier to install my kids could've done it for me. Everything went on perfect. The original console started cracking where my elbow rests and has drove me crazy for a out a year now. To expensive at GMC dealership. Expensive to recover. Then BAM it hit me. Go on Amazon. Well if you need one here's the fix.
