I got this in hopes that lowering the pH in my goldfish tank would bring back their color. I have 2 goodies that suddenly lost their color two-ish years ago and are now stark white. I tried food, water changes, temperature, sand, ect. Only thing new was we moved from city water to well water with an extremely high hardness and pH levels the year before. Unfortunately, tgis didn't fix it. It did what it was advertised to do though. In a 40gal tank with a 9.5 pH, 1tsp dropped it to a 7.0

Interesting the way it says “do not use with live plants” but interestingly, you can use it with live fish..? I have been using this product with ALL of my plants to keep my ph stable at 6.5 with my caridina shrimp. I also keep neocaridinas at this ph. They all thrive very well. I do use RODI water. I add 1-2 tsp with my 7.5 gallon water, which my PPM comes out to 60-80. I grow Subwassertang, flame moss, and among other plants. They do fine.

It worked for a couple days. My waters just too rough to try to maintain this low of pH.

It said not to use if you have plants, so I only use this sparingly. But it definitely works! I was having trouble bringing down the PH with almond leaves and other botanicals.

I tried using this product 3 separate times and after every time when I test the water, the pH doesn't move from where it was to begin with!

Be very careful when using with exotic plecos and other sensitive fish, it does work, but when you change the ph, you also change other parts of te water, after putting in ..from 6.0 to 6.5 in 5 mins...same evening my green phantom died ...coincidence maybe...wouldn't use again, but does work...just becareful. I gave it 4 stars because it does what it says...but if you have expensive fish , just do a water change ....

Our waters pH from the tap is at the highest range on the test kits. At the time we were new to fish keeping and so we had problems with ammonia and nitrite, the additives we used lowered the pH to the lower range, but did not remain constant so it fluctuated from high to low, which when reading up on pH levels was very bad for the fish. From our research for our fish it seemed that a lower pH would be better for them, and to maintain it. This product has done just that, and remains constant at the 6.5 level between water changes which we do once a month and with that water change as per the instructions we add a little more. We had put off buying it for a long time because when reading up on pH it seemed difficult to maintain and could be more harmful to the fish if the levels did not maintain themselves and many believed it best to leave well alone, but we had suffered far too many fish losses and was desperate to try and get the tank into balance to keep the remaining fish alive and there is no doubt in our minds that using this product was the turning point for us, and we haven't had any more fish losses since using it, in fact the opposite we now have 25 babies born in the tank.
