Good product
This appears to be really rather good, with the app delivering real time readings for basic and advanced readings when the appropriate module is obtained - one manufacturer free with device. There are literally hundreds of data points, far more than I ever thought, with the advanced ones being way beyond my knowledge or skill to understand or resolve, it does save £££ getting garage to run diags though. And it’ll generate a nice professional looking report to print out. Time will tell on lifetime of device, seems robust enough to me. We have a couple of cars by same manufacturer so this handles both. Note that additional car manufacturer software modules are annually chargeable I believe, so I’d get one for each manufacturer if you have multiple vehicles, to save long term. Else instead, one could download on demand when a fault light occurs for a few quid, and save the diag costs at garage that way. Overall I am very happy with this, it is invaluable for wheel sensors for instance that have a habit of clogging up - always was a job to know which wheel, this thing finds it straight away. If you’re fairly competent at repairs, this will triage your faults and tell you what the faults are; you can thing make the decision for diy, local garage or dealership for fix.

Worked well on Range Rover Evoque
The functionality is dependent on vehicle manufacturer, but it's a great unit. You can use one brand, but can add others for £22 if you want FULL error code interpretation. You can just use the generic EOBD, get a code and go online to find out what it relates to. I had a "Forward Alert Not Available" message on my 2019 RR Evoque. Used this, Identified a fault U3000-96 which is the image Processing Module A (Chinese Bosch AEB unit) even gave module information with an internal error 466. Couldn't clear code permanently due to faulty unit. RR dealer wanted £1200 to interrogate the ecu and replace the IPM if it was faulty. I bought a used one off ebay for £27....!!! Managed to workout what error 466 related to and swapped a camera within the ipm with my ebay buy. Now works fine, no fault codes. ***This unit resets the service interval which many others fail to do.

It's OK
UPDATE: Apparently it was an issue with their android server, they have fixed the issue and the device works again. I bought this almost 2 years ago, but it is no longer working. Despite paying £20.49 for a year worth of Toyota functionality every year - it now no longer works. Keeps crashing - they're blaming an Android update - so beware if you're buying this on Android.

Does NOT work for vehicles manufactured after 2019!
Short story: see the title. Long strory: I have recently bought a KIA XCeed (2021 reg) and wanted to get a good diagnostic tool to keep on top of any faults that might appear in the future. This Autel product promised a comprehensive set of features and had good reviews, so I decided to give it a go. After receiving the product, I connected it up and downloaded the MaxiAP200 app to my Android phone. Everything seemed fine until I was prompted to also install an additional Diag-Asia app that was meant to unlock support for my vehicle. Why do I need 2 separate apps to perform car diagnostics? It seemed silly, but I went along with it. After running the Diag-Asia app and selecting "Eobd" diagnostics option, the app would complain that the main MaxiAP200 was not installed on my phone. What an absurd, as I just installed it moments ago! I tried a various things to make it work but, in the end, I could not convince Diag-Asia otherwise. I then tried running KIA diagnostics via the main MaxialAP200 app, and it started by attempting to identify my car via the VIN. While the device was able to automatically retrieve a correct VIN, the app would complain that it could not decode it. I checked the number for invalid/wrong characters, and everything was correct. Still, the app simply would not have it. I then tried to manually select my KIA from an in-app list of models, but the XCeed was not amongst them. Finally, I tried choosing from several available models (e.g., Ceed, Sportage, etc.) just to see what happens next. To my amusement, I could then proceed to select a vehicle produced only in 2019 or older. Then it clicked. The main MaxialAP200 is distributed on Play Store by an entity called "autel2019". This, together with everything mentioned above, points to the fact that the diagnostics kit does not support any vehicle manufactured after 2019! The seller (perhaps intentionally) does not mention this in the product description, but sadly, it appears to be true. Trying to update both apps in an attempt to get the "latest database" did not help as I installed the newest versions from the get-go. Very dissapointing. I will be returning the item tomorrow.

Good quality and value
I’ve been very pleased with this product. It arrived on time, well-packaged, and in excellent condition. The quality is solid, and it performs just as described. It’s clear that attention has been given to both design and usability. What I appreciate most is the balance between quality and value — it feels reliable and worth the price. I’ve had no issues so far, and it has met (and even exceeded) my expectations. I’d happily recommend this product to others who are looking for something dependable and effective.

Can program car keys!
This is a little gem. I read about it on a forum after wanting to make my own spare, I was looking at £250 if I went via a dealer/Timpsons. There are many far more expensive diagnostic tools out there that cost hundreds which can do the job, for the price I was very sceptical about this little tool. I tried it yesterday and it worked perfectly, got a spare fob and coded it to my car. All in about £75. It comes with one free car make download of your choice and you can buy others as/if needed. The diagnostic capabilities are decent too, you can clear, reset and reprogram with this tool. Give it a shot.

Good concept let down by software
This is a very capable device allowing reading of DTCs across many systems unlike the cheap readers. The app is awful though, it can be made to work mostly but it's a real fight with many many many retrys

Does the job was able to code injectors on bmw and find and clear fault codes on Mercedes worth the money
