Does what I got it for
I got these to replace a set of kitchen shears that somehow made it out to husband's workshop and got used for something related to repairing a broken down tractor!! No good for the kitchen any more :( I use scissors in the kitchen for countless things, but I specifically wanted a good pair to use to cut whole chickens into halves. These fill that bill. Sure, it takes a little muscle, but they cut right through the ribs down either side of the back. They also cut right through the cartilage between the breasts. I guess the serrated side is a fish scaler and the little hook thing on the end is a bottle opener. I'll never use either of those features. The spring loaded handle took a little getting used to, but no problem. I don't really see that as a "bonus feature" though. I like that they come apart for cleaning. Very easy to disassemble, but sometimes have to fidget with them a bit to get them back together. Again, not a problem. I've used them to trim the fat from meat, cut bags for my food sealer, cut kitchen string for tying up roasts, etc. A million uses, but most important for me, they make halving a chicken a snap. As for the reviewer who said that they wouldn't cut thawed meat....possibly a "dud" set or possibly, the meat just needs to be partially frozen to allow a clean cut as meany meats do. They appear to be very well made, sturdy. Would recommend.

Excellent shears, use for cutting pills
This is a great pair of shears. My favorite purpose for them is cutting pills in half, both for myself and my dogs. It seems that lots of the pills these days come needing to be cut in half, at least ours do. I was forever looking for a simple and efficient way to cut them down without crushing them into a powder. I place the pill in the โroundedโ portion of the lower blade and I can make a clean, even cut so easily. No waste, no uneven sizes. I like the way they lock closed, come apart for cleaning and how lightweight they are. They are so handy and efficient.

Good shears
These have been some good shears lasted Little over 4 years for the spring broke which is usually what breaks in these shears. I'm going to try to contact the company to see if they sell the spring to replace it.

Excellent for bone-in meat, not veggies, plastic packaging, etc.
After reading some reviews, it is clear that some people do not understand the intended purpose of these shears. These shears are excellent for breaking down chicken: I spatchcock (remove the back bone) of a chicken each week and roast it for meal prep. I remove wingtips and chop up the back bone to make stock. I got tired of using basic kitchen scissors or a serrated knife for that purpose. These shears cut through bone/joints/wing tips like butter. The crook at the base of the blades are somewhat tough and blunt, and is intended to snag the bone without slipping off, and cut through with leverage without growing dull. However, the relative dullness of this section and the shape do not allow for that smoothly gliding point of edge to edge contact that is needed for slicing through thin, durable items like plastic packaging or even the chicken skin. The actual scissoring portion of the blade is relatively short, only the first two inches or so at the front, and if you start with the item at the very back of the blades in the crook, the item will spread the blades apart slightly so they do not cut. You can use those first two inches for cutting through thin, tough items, but it is not the most efficient tool for that purpose if you will be doing that a lot. If you only plan on chopping up veggies, boneless breast, steak, pork, food packaging, you are better served with a regular pair of kitchen shears, chef's knife, or even office scissors. If you break down a lot of chicken and save the bones for stock, as I do, then these shears are indispensable.

Great poultry shears!
I'm very happy with these poultry shears. Very sharp, totally get the job done without strain. Well designed, easy to clean. Come apart for sharpening and cleaning. Good value. Nice grip.
User
Great addition to the kitchen.
Very sharp and study. Keep your fingers clear. Cuts a chicken back bone with ease. the turkey backbone is a little more challenging with this size of shears, but doable.
User
Very very dull! Donโt buy!
Very very dull! Canโt even cut Chicken leg bone. Knifeโs edges are too thick, not sufficiently angled to be sharp or sharpened . Regular scissors work better. Wasted my money. Will never buy this brand again.

Cuts with ease
Very happy with these Shears. I still thought I would have to apply lots of strength or even use two hands but these are so easy to use and cut through with little effort. Also easy to pull apart for cleaning.
User
Very sturdy and easily cuts through poultry
Very sturdy poultry scissors. Handle is comfortable and strong. Locking mechanism for easy storage when not in use. I purchased to spatchcock a turkey for thanksgiving and it easily cut through the turkey to remove the spine. Easy to clean. Arrived quickly. Happy with this purchase.

When you need it, you NEED it!
At first I thought, who needs poultry shears? I'm not Julia Child. But if you're the person in your kitchen who wrestles with poultry, ribs or other food that needs a strong blade, I have found this to be a tremendous product. I don't need to use it every day but when I do, I truly appreciate it. The blades are sharp, well designed and crafted. I can see how it could get passed down through the family due to its sturdiness. The two sides separate for thorough cleaning thought I did find it hard to figure out how to put it back together.

Very good
The scissors is sharp and easy to cut chicken.etc ,,,

Good quality
These are great and cut well. My only issue is that they hurt my hand (finger side and not the thumb side) because they are not as comfy as I was expecting when I have a lot to cut - I have a large hand
