The variety helps keep kids interested and prevents boredom.I purchased this for my grandson, and he has been working on it every day.The rule is five pages before electronics, and he has been able to complete the activities with ease while still feeling challenged enough to stay engaged. It's been a wonderful way to reinforce what he learned in kindergarten and help prepare him for first grade.The reward system is another fantastic feature. Kids earn stickers as they complete chapters, and there is a certificate at the end of the workbook to celebrate finishing the entire book. This book is excellent for summer review! The only thing I didn’t like about it, the pages rip out very easily and my kiddos were disappointed in them falling out.Love the giant poster that comes with it and stickers! There is a page at the back for a certificate when finished. It took us about 2 1/2 months to finish doing 15min each weekday. Minus vacation and sick days. So a good chunk of time! Love the colored sections, it made each chapter exciting for them to look forward to and finish.

This helped my stepson immensely. He is very behind in school for his age and we are trying our best to keep him active in his academics over the summer. Easy to instruct and help with. Great for practicing and keeping it fresh in the child’s mind!

disappointed, some pages where filled up, stickers not there

I didn't want my little one to forget the important concepts and foundations laid during kindergarten last year, and decided to purchase this workbook to maintain and structure her learning. Highlights has been a trusted Canadian resource since I was a child and this book did not disappoint. Little one was able to work through various mazes, tracing, math, find the difference, phonetics, colouring, and spelling activities with relative ease. The coursework is specifically tailored to her age group and was engaging enough that she didn't tire easily from it. Highly recommend for summertime to keep up the skills kiddos learned during the school year!
