I also like that the author points out, "We should not idolize Wright. His buildings did not always live up to his own ideals, let alone our idealizations of him," (p.13), and he gave a few examples. He also points out how our Green movement is at odds with some of Wright's ideas, like reliance on cars. It puts Wright into perspective: he was only human and made mistakes as he experimented with new materials and new technologies as they became available, but a lot of his ideas were sound and that's what the book mostly explores. I enjoy architecture as a hobby, but this book is more like one of art. The photos are really nice and pretty inspiring. If you are fan of FLW, then this book is a no brainer.
