Review: ...information regarding the Muslim faith and Islam was very educational. - Book Review – “The Last Patriot” by Brad Thor was a great change of pace and very educational thriller on Islam. I love how Thor puts real snippets of history into his action thriller novels. It really makes for exciting reading. The historical information only lends a fascinating authenticity to the story and it sheds incredible light on current world issues. A really good thriller with solid writing and very interesting history points. Thor obviously did his homework especially with regards to technical details and weapons. It’s refreshing to see a book with so many law enforcement, military and special ops details that are right! Every time I start a Brad Thor thriller, I am sucked into a well written story that plays like a movie in my head. The details and research that he places into his books are amazing. The Last Patriot was Scot Harvath meeting the Da Vinci Code with non-stop action and plenty of interesting factual background concerning President Thomas Jefferson and his dealings with Muslims. Absolutely one of the best action thrillers I've ever read combining true US history and today's terroristic threats. The end notes by Thor were beneficial to stop my mind from wandering about ‘what if?” Great story and concept by Brad Thor. Although the overall story is fictional, the information regarding the Muslim faith and Islam was very educational. A must read in the Scot Harvath series.

Beats the DaVinci code hands down
This is the summer page turner. Brad Thor does an outstanding does of plotting a completley believeable story line. This book grabs you from the very first chapter and moves along at a good pace. It was also a pleaseure to read the book that has been thoroughly researched. I have been to several of the places that Thor mentions and can vouch for the accuracy of his discriptions. To me it is just as important that an author gets even the small details correct ie weapons descriptions of historical places etc... and Brad Thor delivers on that front his knowledge of the tournaquet pants and other information is first rate. It was also a pleasure to read an author that presents Islam in such a straight forward manner. He presented the extremeist and balanced it nicely with an explanation of how and why some groups have a more moderate view, but he makes it clear taht Islam is a threat to our way of life. This is the first one of his books that I have read and I am going to make a point of going back to read the rst of his work.

he is happy with his new life
THE LAST PATRIOT by Brad Thor could be classified as historical fiction. Former Navy SEAL and special ops Secret Service agent to the President, Scot Harvath, left his dangerous 15-year special ops life along with his ex-Navy girlfriend, Tracy Hastings. Tracy is in the process of recovering from serious wounds received from an exploding IED in Afghanistan where she had been an explosive demolition technician. Scot and Tracy are vacationing in Paris. While walking near a sidewalk café discussing their future and their new quiet life they witness a major terrorist attack. Scot, out of habit rushes to rescue an injured Anthony Nichols, a history professor at the University of Virginia who was thought by Harvath to be the subject of the attack. Scot does not want to get involved, he is happy with his new life, but Tracy convinces him of their responsibilities when they discover Nichols might have some sort of connection to the President. They soon learn that Professor Nichols is involved in researching the seventh century version of the Koran where it is thought that the Prophet Mohammed enlightened his disciples with the “lost revelation” a very different version of the Koran than exists today and one that could threaten the Muslim world as it exists today. In discussions with Nichols, Harvath is convinced that he has to find the Don Quixote. He learns that it might be in a rundown Mosque in a very dangerous section of Paris. In addition to the enjoyment of a well written novel, Brad Thor has provided us with an enlightened history of the Koran through almost 1400 years of Muslim ideology following the poisoning and death of Mohammed in 632 AD. Thor writes that in 1805, President Jefferson sent Army officer William Eaton with a contingent of Marines, Leathnecks, under Lieutenant Presley O’Bannon to attack Tripoli and put an end to Muslim pirating on the high seas—America’s very first military confrontation on foreign soil. Did Thomas Jefferson envision at that time a future threat to our nation from the Muslim world? I wonder. Through the written word, Brad Thor guides us through a fleeting history of events that bring us to the defense of our nation today. I believe this is Brad Thor’s finest novel. I heartedly recommend, The Last Patriot. I rate the book a strong 5-star success.

A breathtaking thriller
I liked the story, ie true history and fiction entwined. Fascinating. From even B.C. to now! And whilst reading: I really had to quickly check online a few things🙈😄, some familiar, some such as about the 3rd USA president I knew nothing about, as a Dutch person! In short: breathtaking!!🙏 P.S. wrt Al-jazira, and I living in Turkey, checking him out: well: he came from the area between the Euphrat & Tigres: I did a lot of my own research about 15 years ago, where did pple come from, and *go*.. making it even more interesting reading this book.

Twisted plot
Better than the last book. Better ending. Good historical background used to set the tone. Now want to find out more about Thomas Jefferson

Good in depth research mixed with real life and fictional circumstances, with a hint of Dan Brown's flair for history. Outstanding read.

This book reminded me of National Treasure but with big players, violence, and lots at stake. It was excellent and I like an open ending like this.
