Perfect for storing iPhone 6 Plus and ID, not for GU gels...
- I purchased my first Roosport plus pouch at the Philadelphia marathon expo last November. It's made in the USA, a major reason for my purchase. The gentleman there demonstrated it so well that I decided to take a chance. - After purchasing the first one, a friend of mine liked it so much that I gifted it to them and bought another one from Amazon. Take the pouch for many test sessions before you run that ultra with the pouch so that you can get used to it. The iPhone 6 Plus is a larger (and heavier phone) and therefore shall put this pouch to work. For it to work properly, the iPhone 6 Plus has to be placed on the inside. I tried to place it on the outside and the pouch couldn't hold the phone when I was out running but held it perfectly when the long side was inside the shorts. It has a zipper on both the long side that is supposed to be in the inside of the shorts and another zipper on the small strip that is supposed to be on the outside of the shorts. - The iPhone 6 Plus comfortably fits into the pouch and the pouch has two slots, one on each side, where you can run your wire for your earphones through. - the magnets are pretty strong and hold the pouch together during a run/long workout. I have used my Roosport plus running on paved roads and on the treadmill and elliptical with no issues. This pouch is perfect for someone who is just a) looking to have storage space for an iPhone 6 Plus while running. b) Not concerned about getting that fast race time and is doing a leisurely practice run where the runner is not concerned about the times they post/run. Runners who will not need to access their phone once they have secured the Roosport plus onto their shorts. c) For runners who don't carry anything other than their phone and ID whilst running. c) For walking and touring, especially in unfamiliar or unsafe areas. It can hold your important documents discretely on the inside of your pants. Advantages a) The iPhone 6 Plus with the Otterbox Commuter case fits snugly into the pouch. (the smallest, thinnest version of the Otterbox) b) Once you lock the pouch onto your running shorts, the effective magnets, once you have tied your running shorts tightly, secure the pouch in place. c) There is a slot for routing your earphone wires in and out of the pouch. d) It cleans easily and is made of durable material. The pouch has one long side and one short side. The longer side holds the iPhone and the shorter side has a zipper and can hold a key or two, an ID or other small item The pouch comes with a plastic zip lock bag. I put my iPhone 6 Plus in the zip lock bag to prevent sweat and moisture from going into the phone. Ideally, the pouch would be used by someone who is not going to need to access the phone throughout the run. This would include someone with a smart watch who doesn't need to 'start' an app on the iPhone 6 Plus to start recording/logging any workout activity, or someone who is not anal about recording each and every step of their workout activity and just 'goes with the flow'. Accessing the phone will mean stopping or seriously slowing down your run, untying your shorts strings, pulling out your phone and then putting the phone back into the pouch, tying your shorts strings and then resuming your run. Someone who preferably has Bluetooth earphones, has turned the music on and has securely fastened the pouch to the running shorts. The best (and probably only) way for the pouch to stay in place when there is rigorous running activity is to clamp it to the shorts tightly! Find a balance point and tie the shorts strings as tightly and as comfortably as possible to securely fasten the pouch to your shorts and prevent it from moving around while running, which may lead to it falling off. Once you tie your shorts strings, then you don't want to untie the shorts strings for any reason, as that will force you to stop. For example, in a race, a lot of people are using their phones as their stop-watch, GPS tracker and iPod, in addition to many other things. Therefore, the only way you can effectively use this pouch is by clamping it to your running shorts with the long side inside the shorts and the short side outside the shorts. I tried to use the longer side on the outside of the shorts and packed a few GU energy gels but it was very uncomfortable and the pouch made the shorts to start getting loose. โ Disadvantages a) Pouch doesn't hold much in its shorter side. Since the longer side is the one that holds the phone and is usually tucked inside your running shorts, runners (like me) who want to store GU gels, salt stick capsule tablets and other stuff in a competitive race are 'forced' to get an additional running belt. Although the picture shows that the Roosport can store GU gels, it is almost impossible to use the Roosport to store numerous GU gels, especially if you are running a long distance race. Since the longer part of the Roosport plus stores the phone and the shorts strings have to be securely fastened so that the Roosport cannot slide down/off the shorts, the only way one can store the GU gels is by putting one or two in the shorter flap that would normally face 'outside'. So, a running belt would be better for someone who needs to store GU gels and other paraphernalia, as the running belt would have more space. I really wish the Roosport plus would have equally sized flaps/pouches so that one would be able to store a few items onto the outer flap/pouch.

Great pouch - very durable
I purchased this at a race expo initially to carry my passport which was required for re-entry into the U.S. It worked perfect! Super strong magnet holds tight and I hardly felt it while running. I don't use it for my phone while running (I use an armband) but I now use this a lot for when I walk or need to go to the store. Easily fits my car keys (I have a large fob), my phone and my cards. Can through in a chapstick too. Just depends how bulky you want it to be on your waist. I actually bought one of these for my mom for when she walks to carry her phone since she doesn't like things on her arm and one for my running buddy out of state. Would definitely recommend.

Well-designed product
This is a very well-designed product. I'm giving it four stars based on this. I'll change it to five stars if I find that my usual leggings and shorts aren't pulled down by using it or I don't have any other issues with its actual use. I wasn't contacted by the company to try this product. I just decided to finally try it after considering it for a couple years. I haven't haven't found many reviews that answered my questions, so this review are the things I've always wondered. -- The flap that sits outside of your clothes is unbranded. I really really like this as it's discrete. -- It's a very well-made product. It's thin and flexible. -- The side that's against your clothes is very soft. The rest of the fabric is nylon. All of the fabric is very thin while also maintaining its shape. It's also at least half as thick/heavy as the RunningBuddy. -- It's very easy to "install". It's easiest to put my phone in it first and then slip it under my waistband. There's one thin, but very strong magnet in the center of the front flap (love this as opposed to multiples to have to juggle). It's also very easy to take off as I can just slid it off. -- The best and really only comfortable location for me to wear it is in the center back of my waistband. Wearing it anywhere along the front leads to akward bulges because of the rounded nature of that part of the body compared to the flatness of the lower back. -- I love that the main pocket is completely open making it really easy to pull my phone out and put it back in. I have a Sansung Galaxy S7 and it fits with about 1" of extra space (the 2.0 version likely wouldn't have fit my phone, which also has an Otterbox Commuter case). I can see it easily fitting up to 4-5 gels vertically along with my phone, though it would obviously add bulk. One gel would fit without increasing the thickness beyond that of my phone. -- The zipper pockets are great. The inner one is as large as the whole pocket and is perfect for cash, an ID, and card(s) without adding a lot of bulk. The outside one is genius and could fit 1-2 gels laid horizontal or other items up to about 1.75" wide. It goes the entire length of the pocket. I will likely use it for my house or car key, so it stays separate from my phone.

Definitely get this!!!!!
7 years ago I bought the first version of this pouch at an expo for a half marathon I was in. It is still going strong 7 years later after a bunch of half marathons, 5ks, 10ks, and a full marathon. Unfortunately as phones have gotten bigger, it was just too tight of a fit anymore, so I came back to the same company to buy an improved and slightly larger version. I love that they now have multiple sizes and various colors! I can attest to the quality and the usefulness of this product. I like the magnet feature rather than a strap that buckles around the waist because it feels less cumbersome and doesn't shift or bounce when I run. You do not have to worry about ever losing it while running, the magnet is plenty strong. I also use it when I'm just out and about! The zipper part easily holds credit cards, ID, etc. The largest one is big enough to hold your phone and a gel or two. I highly recommend this for anyone with an active lifestyle, runner or not!

Works Great! Perfect for holding a smart phone while running...
I started running about 4 months ago. I wanted a simple inexpensive way to track my runs. I was looking into purchasing a fitness tracker or a GPS watch, but most of them were pretty expensive. The ones that were affordable didnโt get great reviews. I wasnโt 100% sure I really wanted to wear something on my wrist anyway. I kept researching and found that I could purchase an app for my iPhone 5 and use my phoneโs GPS to track my runs. I bought Runtastic PRO for approximately $5. This was significantly less expensive compared to a GPS watch or fitness tracker. Now, with a nice running app on my phone, I needed a way to carry my phone when I ran. This is where the RooSportPLUS comes in. I researched all types of phone carriers. The arm band just didnโt make sense to me. I read about a lot of them, but the arm bands that were reviewed best seemed bulky, and some required special cases or attachments. I was strongly considering a SPIbelt, and they do work very well (my girlfriend had one), but I wasnโt exactly excited about wearing something so similar to a fanny pack. I started reading and researching the RooSportPLUS. I thought the price was very reasonable so I thought I would give it a try. I havenโt had to try anything else since I purchased it. When I first looked at it I was surprised. I thought the pouch that held the phone hung on the outside of your waistband, but it actually hangs on the inside of your waistband. I thought it would rub against my skin and irritate me, but it didnโt at all. Like many other reviewers wrote, I hardly noticed it when I run. I have had no problems with it at all. I recently used headphones with my phone in the RooSport. I was able to fit my headphone jack with an โLโ shaped plug into my iPhone 5 and place all of it in the RooSportPLUS WITHOUT having to use the small hole for headphones. The phone and the headphone jack all fit inside the pocket. I didnโt have any problems with the chord during my run. I have used the zipper on the outside flap to hold my car keys while I run several times, and it worked perfect. I have not used the inside pocket often, but it could come in handy. I ended up purchasing a Bluetooth watch that pairs with my Runtastic PRO app. Currently when I run, my set up is: Casio STB-1000 bluetooth watch, paired with Runtastic PRO, holding it in my RooSportPLUS Running Pocket. The setup works great. When you total the cost of the Bluetooth watch I bought, with the price of the app I use, it is considerably less expensive compared to most running GPS watches and I get excellent run tracking ability. The RooSportPLUS is the one piece of the puzzle that allowed me to put everything together.

Great concept, poor quality
Great idea, extremely poor quality -- two weeks and the stitching is already coming undone. Also, it lacks interior loops or tie-spots for hooking a key lanyard to prevent key from popping out onto ground when you unzip. Other than those issues, the concept is good, the magnet is more than strong enough, and it easily fits my cell (moto-x). BTW, the moto-x is a very small phone. I suspect large phones will be out of luck. Will I ever order another? No way. Instead I'll just have a local tailor whip one up. It's a simple thing and that way I can get solid work and a lanyard hoop inside the zip pockets. Tailored will cost a tad more, but it will last FAR more than two weeks.

Perfect!
Ordered the RooSportPlus in black and arrived within two days. It is everything I expected... roomy, lightweight, and secure. The magnet is extremely strong, stronger than anticipated for its size. Was able to comfotably fit my Samung Galaxy A32 with Otterbox, credit card wallet, earphones, car keys, and Rosary beads. Comfortable, easy to wear, stays put, and no issue when sweating. Especially like that it's made in the USA. Would recommend to friends and would purchase again. Thank you for making a quality product.

Company not able to post to N Ireland! Got delivered to Scotland.
My husband loved this product as he had bought one previously at a marathon expo. Unfortunately lost it but I was delighted that I could order it through Amazon! Just a pity about the posting palaver. Some day someone will sort out Northern Irelandโs predicament with parcel postage. ๐ Glad it was small enough for my sister to put in her hand luggage from Scotland.

Didn't meet my expectation
Doesn't look pretty and sturdy. I should have re-ordered Running Buddy instead because it's much better.
