Stable stand with a small footprint
I absolutely love this laptop stand and highly recommend it! I occasionally work from home and needed something to prop up my work laptop to use as a second screen due to not having a docking station. I researched several options on Amazon along with watching videos online for several of them. In the end, I decided to give this one a try. I was a little worried it wouldn't be stable enough to hold the heavy 15" laptop or that the bottom lip might not be big enough to prevent the laptop from sliding down, or out from the bottom, but that is not an issue at all. The laptop is very stable and I never worry about it sliding out, even when I adjust the laptop screen or plug in different things (keyboard, mouse, charger, etc.) The angle makes it perfect to use the laptop as a second screen, especially with the different adjustments you can make to the stand, but the angle makes it very difficult to use the keyboard on the laptop to type. I planned on using an external keyboard anyway, so that isn't an issue for me. If you plan on typing on the laptop, not sure this would be the best choice. I store it on its side after every use and was worried I may have to re-tighten the adjustment screw every once in a while, but that hasn't been an issue either. Probably my favorite thing about this stand is it doesn't take up a ton of room, which is ultimately why I decided to give this one a try. Some of the other stands I was looking at had a much bigger footprint. They would have taken up a lot more room on my desk, which would make it difficult to put an external keyboard and mouse in front of it, but that isn't the case with this one due to it's small footprint. I've used the stand for several weeks now and I have been extremely happy with the purchase. I would definitely buy this again and wish they would replace our stands at work with this one.

Light, solid, stable. Brilliant design.
I've been using this with my Lenovo ThinkPad X230 at work for group coding sessions at the conference table, and it's worked great. It's light and yet quite solid and stable. With most (or all?) MacBooks, you won't be able to use the highest settings, because the range of MacBooks' hinges is limited -- that's not the fault of this product, though. For MacBooks, you need a stand rather than a riser if you need a good deal of height, and a stand that's as stable as this riser is going to be bulkier and/or heaver. This riser wouldn't be suitable for me for permanent use, as even at its highest setting, it's not *quite* high enough for full-time ergonomics. This is partly due to the laptop I use it with being a 12.5" widescreen (i.e. short). But this is a riser, not a stand; I don't believe it was designed for full-time primary-screen use. To me, this is a tool you can take with you for when you need to do actual work on your laptop away from your desk. At your desk, you should use an external monitor, and either keep your laptop closed, or put it on a fairly high stand so it can be at the neutral ergonomic level that you have your monitor at -- you do have your monitor on a stand or arm, right? :-) To give you an idea where I'm coming from, I haven't met a height-adjustable monitor yet that can stretch tall enough for me while sitting right on the desk. (At this point, you may be wondering if I'm a giant; no, I'm slightly under six feet tall. I just take ergonomics pretty seriously.) Now all I need for even better portability is a light, wireless ergonomic keyboard and mouse. Alas, those are much harder to find than this was.

It is really great but...
Well, I just got a new laptop for college, and one of my friends recommended I purchase a laptop riser (this one, specifically). As a computer science major (and pc gamer!) I spend a lot of time in front of my laptop screen, and a riser would prevent having to spend all that time looking down. The product has been quite good; my laptop weighs over 5 pounds, and the riser holds it without any issues. It is quite sturdy. It is easy to assemble and disassemble, and adjusting it take less than a minute. However, it has one problem: on the bottom of the product, underneath the lip that holds up one's computer, there are two rubber strips that cover bottom edges of the riser and provide added traction and support against a desk. However, one of them has consistently fall off my riser. I can easily put it back on by pressing it back onto the plastic, but still, I was somewhat disappointing. It seems like coming from a company like 3M, adhesive failure would be the last thing you'd expect, but still. For this reason, I will not give this product a five star rating. Other than that though, it has been great. I would definitely recommend it.

Great Product
I love this thing. I was using my laptop (standard IBM Lenovo) as a third screen in my cube at work, but it felt very far away and too low when compared to my two other larger monitors. I bought this and it allowed me to move the laptop much closer to me, and I was able to raise the screen to eye level to coincide with my other two monitors. Basically, this laptop stand is sturdy enough for me to have my laptop open the whole way and thus the laptop is perpendicular to my desk. (I basically have a cockpit at work now and get a whole lot of comments from others in the office.) The one curve ball I had is that I use a docking station at work. The docking station fits on the stand just fine without compromising the balance of the laptop sitting on there. It's still very sturdy. My docking station is smaller than the base of the laptop, so I put the laptop on the docking station first, then place the laptop/docking station on the 3M stand. I thought about somehow attaching the docking station directly to the stand so it stays up without the laptop, but I just haven't gotten around to it. Overall, the stand is sturdy but light. It also breaks down/adjusts very easily and was available for a great price. I am thinking about getting one just for my home office as well. It just saves surface space if you do not need to use the keyboard/mouse on your laptop. Highly recommend.

This stand is sturdy and really works.
This is the best stand for a laptop computer. Setting the height is a bit of a pain because it involves tightening a screw with a screw driver, but it is unreasonable to expect something easier at this price point. I have been using this stand for two and a half months now, moving it from one surface to another over and over again, and it has worked as advertised. It is very helpful to have the laptop screen at a higher angle. My job requires typing on my laptop computer for hours, and, with a good ergonomic keyboard, this stand has saved my neck a great deal of discomfort. I highly recommend this stand for anyone who frequently works on a laptop computer for a living.

Fantastic Adjustable Vertical Laptop Stand
I've owned the 3M Adjustable Vertical Laptop Stand (LX550) for around a year and a half and love it! I do a lot of writing on my laptop, so much so, in fact, that I use mine with a separate, small mouse as well as a small, ergonomic Bluetooth keyboard. In short order I sought out a better way to work with these attachments, because I was not only starting to have neck pain from looking down at the screen, but because I had to place my separate keyboard in front of the laptop's default keyboard, it meant that the laptop was even further away, making the screen appear smaller by contrast. As a solution for these issues, I purchased this laptop stand and am very glad I did. The stand itself is rubberized and fits my 15.6 inch laptop wonderfully. The stand has 3 inches of range of height adjustability, so you are able to easily set it to your ideal height and angle. Three inches might not sound like much, but because this elevates and angles your whole laptop, it meant for me that the screen is a good 9 inches or more higher than it would be if it was sitting flat on a desk, meaning that I can look straight ahead at it rather than looking down and hurting my neck after long writing sessions. The stand is very small and compact, and doesn't take up much space at all. It has a non-skid base that keeps stand (and laptop) securely in place. My laptop feels incredibly stable in this stand, and short of pulling the wires or some such, I don't feel like it's going anywhere. It is black and grey in color. My only complaint about this laptop stand is that you really can't easily collapse it down for travel. It's small at 8.6 x 6.2 x 8 inches and light, certainly, but it's not something you can easily collapse and toss into a bag, therefore I prefer to use mine at home rather than on the go. I am exceptionally pleased with this adjustable vertical laptop stand (LX550) and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clever way to raise up their laptop to make the screen at a more appropriate monitor height. I am a longtime Amazon Prime customer who enjoys writing reviews in my free time. If you have any questions or comments, please comment or message and I'll be glad to help!

Works great, stable, quick to setup
I spent a long time (hours...) trying to figure out which stand to buy for my laptop, which is just under 4 pounds with a 15.6" screen and quite thick. When I first opened the box and looked at it, I was skeptical about how my heavy computer would sit, and whether it would be stable. Well, it took about 10 seconds to get this thing set up (you have to tighten a bolt), I put my laptop on it, and wow. The rubber is nice and keeps the computer stable and in place. It also doesn't slide around the table. PLEASE note I'm using a wireless keyboard and mouse, I'm not trying to type on the stand. I noticed some people have this complaint about other mounts. Anyway, I'm not sure how long the rubber holds up, but my first impression is it was exactly what I was looking for. Even portable so it should fit in the backpack I ordered.

Great stand for 2-in-1 laptops!
This is the stand I wanted! I have a 2-in-1 13" laptop and I wanted to be able to hold it more vertically AND basically as a tablet (or monitor) when folded into tablet mode. This stand is perfect! It's heavy, solid plastic with large, non-slip rubber (grey in the product images). The bottom lip is deep and holds my folded laptop safely. There is also rubber on the bottom so it won't slip on a desk or table. The adjustment to change the angle is done with a finger-screw. I might add a rubber washer to mine to make sure it doesn't come lose because I'm taking this stand with me to work and back home. The angles are perfect for just about any need. It turns my 2-in-1 laptop into a touch monitor -- and this stand holds my laptop solid as I use the touch screen. The stand is a good, larger stand, and not a little cellular phone type of stand. My only 'con' is that it doesn't fold or someone convert into something more mobile friendly. I could unscrew the screw and remove the back leg each time, but that's not practical. Regardless, it's the best stand for my needs and I'm extremely happy with it!

Perfect stand for dual monitor setup
This is the perfect stand for those looking to rise the laptop screen to match the second monitor and use as dual screen setup. The Stand is very sturdy and my laptop stands with 170 degree angle very easily. The rubber base prevents the stand from sliding or slipping and firmly grips onto the table. Best companion for Work Fron Home setups.

You can chose the more traditional stands or this....
Its geometry is definitely unusual and when I first set it up I thought Nope It's Going Back but I decided to give it a week. After a week it is still here. I have gotten used to it but more than that I appreciate that it gets the laptop screen up higher making it easier on the eyes and neck. You need an external keyboard because the geometry all but excludes using the laptop keyboard. It is well built (all plastic) and it is very sturdy. It is not portable and would be awkward to carry with you so plan on using it at home or at the office. I thought for what it was the price was a little too high. I still do. But this is a keeper and a good addition to the electronics setup. I would recommend this (if you can get by the price) as a buy.
