There is definitely some mixed reviews on these which I don’t quite understand. I soaked about two cups of thes for about 12 hours (yes the skins do fall off) covers them with water plus a couple more inches and boiled them alone for about 45 min then added bay, thyme, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, one carrot and a dried hot pepper. My experience is that beans don’t cook as well if they are seasoned at the beginning. I like them on a salad with an olive oil dressing, Parmesan, avocado whatetever They have a slightly sweet taste and a great texture. Review: Obsessed. I soak them overnight with salt to prevent breaking, and cook in the slow cooker on low for 7 hours. Add some salt and olive oil, and voila. They are AMAZING. Great for snacking on, because they're big enough and sturdy enough to be fingerfood. I can't stop eating these. The Arosis beans are very good, creamy and flavorful. **Q: Can these beans be sprouted to grow plants?** A: Yes. I’m in MidAtlantic area and used these to grow Gigante beans several years ago. I soaked for a few hours (4-6) then planted directly into my raised beds. Plants need a lot of staking as they are quite large.
