In many states, it's illegal without a doctors prescription and in some, Law Enforcement don't care excuse or, not. There's also a black letter/number on the top left of your windshield (looking at it from the inside drivers seat) that regulates just how far down your vehicle is allowable for tinting. Just be warned about this and check with your doctor if you wear glasses and have any astigmatism for them. I have 2.1 transitional lenses in mine and when I get into the Sun, they darken really fast and look as if I'm wearing dark-boy sunglasses.
