Review: Aidata LD007P Laptop Cooling Desk -- Good Product - This is a very good product. I purchased it to keep ME cool as well as my computer. I routinely work on my laptop in my lounge chair, and the gadget I was using for a lap desk was inadequate. I settled on this one, and I'm very pleased with it. It has many choices for elevation with more than adequate height. The rim of the board is holding my machine comfortably in place, but I am mindful of the fact that I need to be careful with it, when I put the lap desk holding the computer on a table to go do something. The fan plugs into a USB port and works well. It can be easily disconnected if you need to use the port. I did read about broken fans in a couple of reviews. The first time I went to handle the upper portion of the desk, I went to grab it, and I realized I had put my hands in a position that would put pressure on the fan. You can certainly break the fan especially if you have large hands and make this mistake. It's plenty easy enough to do whatever you need to without getting your hands in the fan -- but you do need to think about it at first. Reasonably careful handling will avoid problems. This has a comfortable pad that it sits on. The ventilation is excellent. The height is good. I haven't used the mouse pad, because I use a trackball that sits on the arm of my chair while I'm working. I would highly recommend this product. It seems as if it's sensibly made and I expect it to be durable. An excellent product.

I what I was really looking for was a lap desk with room for a mouse or with a mouse pad, but this was the only thing I could really find, and I figured the fan couldn't hurt. Turns out this was a great purchase. Very comfortable to use, this thing is almost perfect. It keeps my computer nice and cool while running huge games like Skyrim, the mouse pad extension is great for my gaming mouse (really not flimsy at all, and nice and smooth), and I didn't know how much I would appreaciate the adjustable angle thing. My laptop is quite thick, so being able to tilt the keyboard up is actually very useful for making it comfortable as well as helping to put the screen at a good viewing height. Only problem I have is that it JUST BARELY fits my 17.3" laptop. The back of my laptop actually hangs a bit off the back of the desk, but that really has not been a problem, and the rubber stop in the front keeps my laptop from sliding around just fine, hence it is still 5 stars. I did a ton of research, and this was quite literally the ONLY product on the market that would do what I wanted. All in all, great product, would highly recommend it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very handy for a larger laptop

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ fan broke first day - But AIDATA sent me new fan free of charge

I don't blame the seller for this one - but the quality is not there on the fan. The fan stopped working the first day. Some people probably would send it back right then and there, but I'm not great about sending large objects back. I got the phillips head screwdriver out and removed the four screws and pulled out the fan unit. One piece of the plastic fan blade fins broke off and the fan was working again. So I closed everything back up and resumed using it. I have a toshiba satellite laptop. I had the stand on a coffee table adjacent to the couch. A couple of days later, the laptop slid off the front lip and tipped onto the floor along with the stand. Fortunately the laptop wasn't higher above the ground before it fell, but the fall dislodged the fan further, meaning it is now noisy. I was keeping an eye on the laptop's temp and wasn't getting substantial cooling with the fan anyway as the fan for the stand doesn't sit above the fan for the laptop. So right now I'm using it without the fan, but I could have gotten a cheaper lap board without the fan. I have not tried adjusting the fan again to see if I can cut down on the noise. If you have a thicker laptop, make sure the stand sits fully on the table or on your lap. The padding itself is firm but not uncomfortable. It is easy to adjust height. It isn't easy to use in the flat position with the fan on because the usb cable for the fan might get pinched in the stand's housing. That being said, I don't use it in the flat position, and I'm still using it. ---------- I'm updating this review and increasing this product a star from three to four. I have been using this stand for about half a year now. After losing three blades over time, the fan was toast, it was so off balance. I tried searching for a new one on line, thinking it would be something I could replace on my own. But most fans are not 5v with a USB attachment. So I emailed the manufacturer of the stand, AIDATA,through their support site, as well as the maker of the fan itself. I asked what I could do to replace the fan. AIDATA emailed me right back apologizing for the inconvenience, and told me to send my address as they were going to send me a new fan priority mail. In this day and age, I appreciate such service. The fan arrived today. I swapped it out with the other one, and am thrilled. While I wish the fan worked when I first got it, I never did contact the company directly until now, and didn't bother returning the product, since the stand itself seemed of good construction and design. I haven't had any more accidental falls of the laptop off the stand. Using the laptop at an angle is way more comfortable in general. Using the keyboard slightly elevated is more comfortable than flat and having the screen at eye level is more comfortable. The way this stand is designed, it is adjustable to several heights (notches where you lock the piece that props up the stand). I have never had it slip a notch or collapse. The padding on this is still firm but comfortable. In my original comment, I couldn't figure out how you could use the stand flat without crimping the fan cord that connects to usb. I have since found a groove on either side near the top where you can run the usb cable through to an opening on the side. So you can use it in the flat position without crimping the cable. I don't use it flat normally, but I wouldn't want my original comment to discourage someone. Perhaps if they redo the packaging, they could show pictures of how the usb cable can be secured on the stand. It's a very well-thought-out product and I would buy it again. If, by chance, you get a dud fan, contact AIDATA. They were great. It could be that the shipping knocked the fan out of balance to begin with, which caused the fins to break as soon as I plugged it in, so perhaps packaging the fan separately and letting the user insert it might be the way to go. Anyway - I'm happier now with the new fan!
