I haven't found anything else that comes close to my mercury case, or that has tempted me to switch until now, and I have reviewed a lot of iPhone5 cases. I like a lot how the case feels in my hand. It is trim and small, but solid. It goes nicely over the front edges to protect the phone well. It goes on and off easily, but snugly enough that it doesn't slip. The design is really attractive, with a purple stripe around the edge and the sheer front edges and button covers. The sheer back is just that - sheer - NOT clear. The logos of the phone show through in the right light, but in a subtle way. The volume shutoff is easy to access and the inset is well-formed. The black ring around the camera opening is attractive. The only weird thing visually is that where the purple ring insets, on the volume shutoff and the bottom openings, the look is a little odd through the front sheer edging in those spots. The texture is satisfying - it feels just the way you would expect the matte finish to fit. Slips easily in a pocket, but not too slick. Just the right amount of slip resistance.The only caveat on this case for me is the bottom openings. There are three distinct openings (as on many cases) for the charger and the side speakers. The charger opening is actually quite large, in a good way, as some cases can only accommodate the width of the included apple charger but not any offbrands which sometimes have larger profiles. However, it because there is a separation between the charger opening and the speaker openings, you can't place the phone on a 4-series plug with adapter, which I still use on ipod docks around my house. To do this you have to slip back the bottom of the case. Part of the reason I bought and love my mercury case is that it is a single opening, with the front bottom edge being substantial enough to handle that. I do suspect that this case is substantial enough on that edge as well that I could take a razor and simply trim out the separations - I have done this on cases I have tested before. But this case is so attractive as it is that I haven't been able to bring myself to do that yet.
