I did notice a little drying around the edge but that was all. I'm sure if the cake were inside, it would have stood proud for hours. Most surprising was the taste. When I trained in cake decorating, we used Wilton fondant which was some of the most vile stuff I have ever tasted. This however, was fabulous. It has a vanilla flavor and paired perfectly with the icing. Nobody peeled it off as I have seen at other events with cakes I didn't do. lol This 5# pail did this 12" double layer cake with plenty to spare. I have never used it on cookies. I use fondant on cakes/cupcakes and then mainly just for decorations.
