This could be do to the shape of the sides of the tub, and the material used to form the hot tub. No matter, I just put it behind my neck, and it does the job. Much more comfortable than having your neck against a molded edge. The pillows are comfortable, and shed water quickly when you are done. I thought about ordering pillows that would also cover part of your back. But, I realized that this type would also block some of the jets.
