The extended length helps with clearance.
The extended length is a must if you have a vehicle equipped with a spare tire hanging above the rear bumper. It moves the trailer hitch back and clears the tire. Also useful for pickups. When using a regular length receiver on a pickup, when lowering the tailgate it would hit the trailer jack handle if not careful.

Great for RV with sewer pipe bumper
The close relationship between the hitch receiver and the 4" square tube bumper meant I needed a longer ball mount. 7" was the minimum for the welded plate to clear the bumper, so this 13" mount (pin-to-ball hole) makes that with just a little over 1" to spare. Perfect.The only knock (for 1 star) is that these are all designed for a 5/8" (.625) hitch pin, and I'm not totally happy that they drilled it so much oversize (.682). I think this made it looser than necessary for easy insertion. I may be compelled to go with an anti-rattle pin kit.

Good for 6th Gen Ford Bronco
Works well for 6th Gen Ford Bronco which has spare tire on the tailgate. I wanted a slightly longer tow bar. I've also got the "Sasquatch" package which is about 2" lift over base and needed some drop to level the trailer. This is a good fit for the 6th gen sasquatch ford broncos.
