They are comfy and warm. In fact my feet, ankles and calves were the only part of me toasty today when the rest of me was cold. I spent a large part of today outside and in a cold drafty stable by a large open door and these kept me warm. It was a rainy day today and in the 40's just off Cape Cod. In Winter I bet these would be just as toasty if I wore them with long woolen socks instead of the Summer-weight ankle-length socks I wore today. I have worn them in puddles and they didn't leak, but the puddle didn't go deeper than the sole of this boot - that would be a different test.I am flat-footed and have had surgery on my PMT joint in one foot. Foot pain is no stranger to me. I can survive a whole day on my feet in these, even when standing on hard concrete floors. I have a neuroma on one foot and have been wearing birkenstock clogs for years. Even their boots won't work. They bend too much in the toe box. Living in NH and after falling numerous times on ice { their soles are too smooth }I started a quest for warm boots. After trying on and sending back probably 60 boots and shoes; my husband and the ups driver say more like one hundred; I've found a pair I can wear. These are so comfortable and warm. I've worn them shopping all day in this -6 degree weather. The leather is very soft and lining wonderful. I ordered all of the boots for this season.I have arthritis in my right foot and ankle from a fracture that occurred in 2012. Before Fiipflop shoes and boots, my mobility was limited and by 11:00 am every day and I could not walk without pain. I had to take an NSAID with terrible side effects. Now with Fitflop, I am pain free all day and no NSAIDs needed.
