Makes gun cleaning so easy
I've used these for years. I only pull out a bore brush if my borescope tells me to. I keep them at home in the shop, and carry them to the range with a goo CLP solution. Love these guys, with buy again. By the way, they last years.

Cleans Like Daddy!
Wow, the Hoppe's Boresnake M-16, .22-.225 Caliber Rifle is like having a magic rope for my toy guns! When I use it, it's like giving my toy rifles a special hug to make them all clean and shiny.I saw my dad using it, and he said it's like a superhero for cleaning guns. Well, I felt like a superhero too when I tried it! It's really easy to use – I just pull it through the barrel, and it takes away all the dirt and stuff. And you know what? It's like a game! I pretend I'm a secret agent cleaning my special spy rifle. It's like a secret mission to keep my toy guns in tip-top shape. And when I'm done, they look so nice and new, just like when I got them! So, if you have toy rifles or guns like me, the Hoppe's Boresnake is like having a super cool helper that makes cleaning a fun adventure. I give it lots of thumbs up and high-fives! 🌟👍

A fast and easy way to clean up your pistols and rifles!
The media could not be loaded. I have used two sizes of these bore snakes and I love them. It speeds up the process of cleaning your guns or rifles and it does a great job doing it. I shoot a lot of .223 and 9mm and so far those are the sizes I use the most. I will have to wind up getting a 40/45 cal version soon. I like how the bore snake works by having a cleaning section, a bore bush section, a drying section and a lubrication section. I have found the bore snake to do a great job of cleaning my rifle and my pistols and I recommend them. It has greatly reduced my cleaning time. I actually go to the range more often now as it is easier to clean my guns.I also like how it has reduced my use of patches and rods which can scratch your barrel while cleaning. These snakes are easy to use and they are washable and reusable. I just toss them into a ziplock bag and carry them in my range kit or in my cleanup bag. This is a good product and I rated it at 5 stars. I even purchased another pair of these for my son and his wife as they go shooting with me all of the time.

For 22 LR Rimfire ---
For 22 LR rimfire you need to pull on the black lead string firmly before you try inserting in the bore. This reduces the diameter of the string a bit. I have a Ruger 10/22 and a CZ 457 bolt gun. It works fine on both these rifles.

Good fit for a quick clean.
Having used these "bore snakes" in many different calibers over the years I can attest as to how useful they are, especially for a quick clean when there may not be time for a thorough cleaning requiring solvents, patches and the like. I usually just dab a bit of "Rem Oil" on my Bore Snake and feed it through the barrel a few times for a quick clean. It woks like a charm every time.

.
I like this product works great for a quick clean but for 22lr and 22 mag I have trouble getting the black string the whole way through eventually after finagling it for a while it will pop through but would be nice if it would just fall through like the bigger caliber bore snakes do.

Good product
I can't say too much about "deep cleaning". My gun was already pretty clean to begin with, and one time use does not really mean a lot. But, my experience with using it for the first time was excellent. What I like most is that it is an easy process for quick use cleaning. Over time, I'll see better if it keeps the bore clean. It certainly has a place in my rifle box.

Pellet gunner's best friend
I shoot between 200 and 1000 pellets a week and cleaning my Benjamin Trail NPXL and RWS Diana 54 Air King is a real chore....Until now!Three passes with this bore snake followed by a couple lightly oiled cleaning pellets and we're good to go. Sure beats the 15 cleaning pellets + 2 bore mops (each rifle) I previously used - taking 20+ minutes with the break barrel NPXL and 35+ minutes with the side lever Diana 54. Now the NPXL is completely cleaned - butt pad to muzzle - in under 10 minutes, the Diana 54 in under 15.Cleaning this bore snake is simple: hand wash, hang to dry. I don't use any soap just continuously flowing water. My only complaint about this product is that it's dark in color so you don't visually know when you've completely cleaned it. I didn't take any stars off because it doesn't really matter to me since I follow up with a couple cleaning pellets. Now I just have to figure out what I'm going to do with my [now unneeded] bore mops. :)The copper weight is too long to fit my Crosman 1377C (or I imagine any non-break barrel handgun) so I'm considering buying another one and cutting the weight in half to fit in the breech.*Edit 02/01/2012*The string is connected to the brass cylinder by crushing the cylinder around the string. I was able to easily yank the string out. Now I use it to clean my Crosman 1377C by feeding the string through until it comes out the barrel, grab the string and pull it through.I'm ordering a second one momentarily for my air rifles (feeding the string all the way down the barrel takes too long). The brass cylinder - acting as a weight - helps immensely!
