Is this safe on hardwood? I need to polish the brass bolsters on my Buck 110 and am afraid of getting a little on the hardwood handle.

Because Brasso Metal Polish was formulated for use on Brass, Copper, Stainless, Chrome, Aluminum, Pewter and Bronze we have no information to provide regarding any adverse effect on wood. It is not recommended for use on painted or lacquered surfaces. You may wish to test in an inconspicuous area prior to using. You may also wish to contact Buck directly for their cleaning recommendations.

Does the brass still require buffing or do you just wipe on and wipe off?

Best is once applied let it sit for 5-10 minutes then wipe off This product in my mind does the job perfectly

Is this the same product as the brasso I purchased in 1966 while in the Navy?

My dad was in the Navy and made several deployments to the Persian Gulf back in the 60’s and 70’s. Brought back tons of brass items including a brass coffee table which is now in my living room. My mom put me in charge of brass polishing. Trust me, it’s the same stuff, I hate polishing it, but it’s well worth it esp. when company comes over.

Should this be used with a certain type of cloth?

No particular cloth is recommended. When using Brasso Metal Polish, soak a clean cloth or sponge with Brasso, apply to metal, then re-polish with a soft, dry cloth.
