You can buy a tool for this, but I just use an appropriately sized socket or box wrench to push them on. They are not designed to be re-used, when you need to remove them, you cut or pry them off and replace them **Q: what size is eqivalent to 1/2 inch?** A: 0.50 inch or 12.7mm. **Q: I need 2 pushnuts with an opening about the size of a fat toothpick.
