Alpine Type-E Series SXE-1750S Car Audio 6.5-Inch Component 2-Way Speakers

Comes with everything I needed for my 2007 Chevy 1500 classic, base model. Factory speakers were muddy/ static at low volume levels, probably abused by previous owner, installed these, problem solved. Many other parts included for other configurations, Perfect fit for OEM replacement on my truck, minor wiring connector changes to use factory speaker leads required, no big deal. Great sound quality as always from Alpine. Stock stereo doesn't drive these speakers to thier full potential, I'm sure. Alpine decks and speakers for my OEM replacements/ upgrades all the way. P.S. : Do your research , ask somebody, whatever, don't get impatient with those door panels and break your hardware, if that snapped clip or fastener rattles or the panel is loose later you are probably gonna be sorry. And, Oh, Lord, hang on tight when driving those screws to secure the speakers, don't get crazy and puncture the surround. That sucks, trust me. OK, Amazon, your review is complete. Bought these to replace factory speakers and im glad I did. I have them hooked up to a JVC head unit with only 20W per channel and they sound great. Rated for 45W RMS im tossing around the idea of adding an amp to them to compliment a single 10" sub I just purchased. I did modify factory tweeter openings to hold the new tweeters in my 02 Sierra it was a simple mod but looks as good as they sound. Very happy with them and the price is unbeatable!

I installed only the 6.5" half of this set into my 2002 mini cooper and I couldn't be happier. Unlike many component systems, this set has NO crossover. It was designed to fit several other models of European small cars that had a factory component system. So when I installed this set into my car, it was a speaker wire adapter, mounting bracket and I was good to go. The music is rich and the sounds is much better than the factory speakers; and for the price of these speakers it is hard to beat. It isn't an audiophile grade set, but if you wanted that you would probably not be doing this yourself. I would recommend these to anyone looking to do a quality, self installation sound system upgrade. Looking forward to my next road trip.

Longevity: 5 stars. Sound quality: 3 stars. Bought these in Nov 2013 and they're still running strong in mid-2023. These are loaded in a 2000 Subaru Forester with the tweeters fitting in the door tweeter spots. An 8" SSL underseat powered sub rounded out the install. These are powered by a basic Kenwood head unit that's also over a decade old. Pros: they sound very clear to me. They take abuse well. I've blown the budget Rockford and JBL speakers within a few years in this and other vehicles. Cons: Sounds is too clear? Tweeters are a bit too powerful in the position they are in. They use a filter cap as a high pass filter. Next time I'd opt for a crossover with volume adjustment or use a power amp. I usually just roll the highs off in the head unit. Compared to the JBL 650 these have zero bass and with the windows down, they’re shrill. 2023-11 update: Installed a Kenwood KACM1814 and set it up at half power. Not long after, the tweeters blew. Soundstage is super midrangey now. I'll be planning to drop in something different, likely JBLs.

Had these just shy of 3 years now in an old '01 Chevy Blazer. They're a good cost-conscious upgrade from the factory front door speakers and dash tweeters. Not audiophile by a long shot, but decent for an old SUV.

I suppose that it is true what they say about getting what you pay for. These speakers are OK, but I guess I was expecting more. I purchased these speakers to replace the front door speakers in my 2007 Pontiac Vibe (with the stock stereo system). The factory speakers sounded weak, and they are located down at the bottom of the door panel (which makes them sound muffled). I liked the Alpine name, and the fact that the tweeters were separate. I was hoping to solve the problem of an under-powered mid/low speaker AND also spread the sound around with the separate tweeter. Unfortunately, I only solved one of the issues. While I was able to get the tweeter moved a little higher on the door panel (I put it on the plastic cover piece opposite of the mirror), the speaker itself sounds weaker than the crappy cardboard factory speaker I took out (not much in the way of bass). Before I installed them, I had planned on purchasing another set for the rear. Now that they are in, I have decided not to. In addition to the mediocre sound, the speakers were a lot of work to install in my Vibe and required a fair bit of modification/fabrication to the existing speaker mounts (although this isn't really a fault of the Alpine speaker set). In hindsight, I am not sure if I would do it all over again. I like the separate tweeter, and the sound is no worse than it was before I began, but... I spent 3-4 hours installing them (and I am fairly experienced doing this kind of thing), and I am not sure I gained much on the sound end of the spectrum.

Bought these little dandies to replace the factory installed 6.5 component speakers in my 98 k1500 work truck (AKA: Xena Z-71 "The Warrior Chevrolet"). Installation was a snap. Being I'm an electrician I had at hand the butt splices necessary to reuse the factory connection so as to place the tweets in the spot designated for them, with the wires already ran for them. And, for ease of replacement if ever needed (I recommend popping into your local Home Depot and getting a few and a pair of stake-on pliers if you don't have em. <-$15 bucks maybe). I have recently installed some 6.5 Infinity speakers in my wife's Jeep, and as those rocked hard, I almost bought the equivalent Infinity component speakers for Xena. But, as I was about the click "add to cart" I saw these beauties in the bar that shows other products similar to the one you're viewing. So, seeings how the Alpines were roughly $25 cheaper and the review stars were about the same, I clicked on to read some of the reviews. After reading the reviews and comparing both ( and a pair of Kenwoods too) I went with my gut. As I don't like to skimp when it comes to my baby-girl Xena. And, being she has given me 300k+ miles of steady, loyal service with only a couple of minor "disagreements" between us, I was set to give her the Infinity set-up. The thing that clinched my decision was the shock and amazement the reviewers showed with their pair of Alpines for the price. I am truly amazed myself. I spend an inordinate amount of time in my girl Xena running from job site to job site. But, now, paired with the Pioneer AVH-X2500BT I bought last month, and a powered sub-woofer I built to fit under the back seat, my daily traverses shall be a bit more tolerable. I just hope everyone on I-20 and 285 like Jimi Hendrix or Howlin' Wolf as much as I do. If not now, they soon will.

The speaker sounds good, and the tweeter comes with the housing so that you may mount them on your vehicle if not equiped with it's own spot for them already. I have a GMC (SIngle Cab, Long bed) Sierra 03' and it had factory tweeters. It didn't fit where they were, so I broke off the original tweeters and grinded the housing to fit. Then I used silicone to adhere them on. You may not want to do all that so plan, and research alternatives. good luck.

I didnt buy these for competition, you might want the R or X series of speakers for that. However Alpine offers great sound clarity and thats what I wanted. They did not dissapoint. Incredible difference from stock, and still better sounding speakers than almost all more expensive comparable speakers. UrbanInspirations came through for me. Will buy again from them.
