Time-Saver Standards for Urban Design

There is so much content here. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, but I wouldn't have it in my library without Pattern Language. Most designers that plan and design full time would rarely get the scale of projects to test the limits of this reference. It's a little like driving a nail with a sledge hammer. If you just enjoy the subject, this is rich and won't disappoint. If your interest is casual I would recommend Pattern Language first.

Its good book but not exellent. Are not deply introduced methods of urban design. No standards information about roads and bridges design in urban environment. Need to develop this good idea of book.

This was a textbook for a class and though we only read a small fraction of the excerpts I think this is a useful tome, and will keep it so that I can read other influential works.

As the time saver std for site construction, you are going to get with lot more interrogants than usefull information, I didn't saw any usefull standard in the book other than theory about ideas and critics.. Waste of money

Amazing reference. Covers a lot of topics and is even a good read. As an architect I appreciate all the information.

Order a different product. This is out of date. A new edition would need transformative updates to be useful.

Urban design is a topic that covers entire cities and towns, transport and infrastructure down to details of wayfinding, and pedestrian ways. This reference book covers this entire scale with historical and environmental influences. The inclusion of classic texts give further context to the subject.
