I need finer grit. Do you have that?

This is course but does not cut into the metal like course grit sanding discs. I would try this before I rejected it based on it being called course. It did not give me the metal scratches that a 40 grit traditional disc did. It knocks old paint and rust off like nobody’s business but leaves the metal mostly uncut.

How may square feet can this do before wearing out?

After partially using one up I can only estimate. At the rate mine is wearing I would estimate 30 or so square feet.

Will this scratch stainless steel?

I am not sure. It is not nearly as scratchy as a typical sanding disc. But I would be cautious . What do yo wish to do to the stainless? Very fine steel wool polished chrome. You might try it on your stainless, but once again, take it slow and easy.

how loud is this disc compared to other angle grinder discs?

My basic plug-in grinder is 90% of the noise no matter which disk I use, but I will say this is much quieter than using a cutting disc or a 1/4" grinding wheel. I'll also say this strip disc is amazing and clears mill scale like nothing else I've ever used.
