These lights are incredible for the price. I've been using them on jobs for over a year now & still can't believe they are this good for the price. I had originally bought them for one shoot and didn't care if they worked past that, Fast forward a year and they are now a integral part of my kit. However there are a few things you should know. THE BAD: They're cheap, Not in a bad way but you get what you pay for. The tripods are a little flimsy, But get the job done well. The lights and soft boxes are a pain to set up, It is like putting together a cheap pop up tent. It takes about 20-25minutes to set up all three start to finish. THE GOOD: For the price there is no way you will get a better set of lights. This kit comes with everything you need right down to a bag to carry everything in. The lights are great once set up, Extremely bright, & very effective. I noticed an immediate step up in production quality using these lights to light video shoots, and on location portrait shoots. The image quality with out lighting vs. with lighting is night and day (pun intended). They have an option of two bulbs or all four, which is nice for certain lighting situations. I've also been using these lights for high-key product photography and yield great results. Few pieces of advice, Buy extra extension cords. When purchasing this set be realistic and don't expect a hollywood lighting set to arrive at your door step. They are great for hobbyist's or working professionals on a budget.

Out of the box, with all of the pieces on the floor, you may not be immediately impressed. Especially if you are used to higher end lighting equipment. Set up isn't overly complicated, but may take you one or two times to get it down smoothly. There were set up instruction included with mine, but I altered the order slightly to make things easier. Once set up, and turned on for the first time I was stunned at the quality and power of the lights. There are two switches on the back of the light, each operates two of the bulbs. If the light is too "hot" you can simply switch one bank of bulbs off. As well there is an additional piece of diffuser that attaches inside the box with Velcro. Is the light is too diffuse, you can remove this. For the money I am extremely pleased. This is a perfect set up for a small room or studio. The stands and lights are nice quality, the boxes and diffuser are acceptable. This is not going to be extremely portable, as set up can take awhile, but the components are lightweight and sturdy enough for indoor use.

The price is what attracts people to this lighting kit, the last pro soft box I bought was over $300 for one high temperature light and straight stand. In this kit you get three 4-socket lamp heads, three soft boxes, three straight stands (one has longer legs but has a stand top so it can function as a straight stand and boom), one boom arm, boom mount, counter weight bag with mount plus 12 CFL bulbs. The pile of trash after unpacking and assembling this was large. There are also some flimsy cases to put it all away and store it, I doubt I'll be putting my kits away, they're going to be seeing a lot of use in our studio. In spite of the extremely light duty construction of the Fancierstudio lighting kit you really get a lot for your money and if you're careful, take your time, don't over-tighten or force anything and don't need to set it up and tear it down often this lighting kit is a great value and is guaranteed to brighten up your YouTube videos or any indoor shooting whether it is photography or video. The included CFL bulbs are around 5000 color temperature, they produce a white light that blended well with daylight leaking in from a window. My kit arrived in good condition and included everything I needed, there was even a little printed sheet tucked away in the case to help with the assembly. I took off a star because of the way the soft boxes go together, I was able to figure it out but it's not fun and it's very crude, but it works. After I put together my first one the other two went much faster. All three light fixtures are the same, each has four screw in sockets and you get four bulbs to populate every socket. The sockets are switched in pairs by two switches on the back of each fixture head so there is some degree of adjustability in light output by selecting two bulbs lit or four bulbs lit. The switches are easy to reach and allow you to turn the lamps off when not in use. I would have given this a three star rating due to the unbelievable flimsy stands, clamps and fittings but Fancierstudio do go the extra mile in some important ways that really makes it deserve at least a four star rating. Each of the three lights includes a super lightweight additional diffuser that goes inside the softbox in front of the bulbs, this really helps soften the light, this means light must go through two layers before it shines on your subject. The inside diffuser is easy to install with bits of sewn-in velcro inside the softbox, the light would work without it but I love the extra diffusion. Having the lamp heads wired in pairs and on separate switches adds a lot of versatility to using this kit. The stand includes a little counterweight bag but you must provide the weights to put in it. I put in two 2.5 pound barbell weights and that allowed good stable reach with the boom. The kit should include an extension cord for the boom light, it's really short. Overall I found the boom fixture to be effective and workable, I would never use this in a studio where dogs or kids were, you could knock this over if you breathed hard on it but it won't fall over on its own. In the final analysis I always ask myself if I would buy this again. In this case the answer is a profound yes. For this price it is a great value. Wishing good lighting to everyone!

Great little lighting setup. I am using it for clothing photos for website usage and works just fine. For DSLR users a reference for how much light produced; I will just say on average I am shooting around f4, 400 ISO and around 60th of a second handheld; of course this is average and is adjusted for each shoot as needed, however, that should give an idea of how much light this kit produces at full power from my perspective. Setup: Is fairly simple if you have set up softboxs prior; If not it may be a bit cumbersome and I did not find the directions to be very helpful for the novice. Cons: The boom light even with the included weight and a weight of my own sitting on the bottom legs felt to unstable at its fully extended max height. I Therefore sub'd out the included light stand for a more heavy duty one I had on hand which had a wider footprint and it works great. I suspect if you are not extended out as far as my setup required this may not be an issue, however, It was somewhat disappointing. Overall I am impressed with this simple lighting setup. Cost wise I think its very worthwhile for a budget studio lighting setup.

If you need a cheap solution these are probably the best out of the low end ones on Amazon. I did tons of research and went with these and I am very happy with them. It IS difficult and time consuming to assemble and they aren't super heavy duty stands but they get the job done and quite well. If you want to transport them I hope you have a van because i would want to transport them intact rather than break them down and set them back up. Also make sure you don't put the soft-boxes on crooked! These have FOUR BULBS PER LIGHT and have TWO SWITCHES ON EACH LIGHT so you can turn off two of the bulbs and have your 50% fill light. I personally love them. I got them with a green-screen and if you are doing green screen keep in mind you have to iron the screen and its huge usually, and you will need maybe harder lights for your foreground. I use green gels to match them to these. Definitely worth the money!

Decent kit, once setup. -No instructions included. Unfortunately, one of the slots where the removable rods for the softbox goes into was cracked. Therefore, unable to use the third light kit at all. The two setups that were able to be used were sufficient, along with my speedlite for the additional fill lighting that was lacking. Also, you get what you pay for. Had to be mindful when making any adjustments to the stands. The gears don't lock in very well, and was constantly worried I would strip one of them. Also, the clamp wasn't exactly strong enough to hold the softbox, light base, and 4 lights, even with weighted bags on the rod bc the clamp itself doesn't fit solidly on the pole. (Yes, I know there are different size grip holes, none worked perfectly.) Besides the broken light base, flimsy gears, missing instructions, and annoying detachable rods from the softbox (if kept I would definitely rigged up a way to attach those permanently to save setup and breakdown time, if transporting kit), the lights are super powerful, the additional inner diffuser is convenient, if needed, the softboxes themselves were of good quality, as were the lights bulbs, and socket base. Also, the entire setup fit easily into the included travel bag, with room to spare for additional light stands, umbrellas, and even 2 extension cords. Would definitely keep as a backup/travel kit if it weren't broken upon delivery.

UPDATE: I just bought two more sets of these and... they're horrible. The bracket that holds the lights up no longer really works at all. Where it used to kind of click into place and hold strong, now it just falls except for the few that can just barely hold their own weight up. It's truly a shame. These used to be so great, now they're almost useless. Not only that, the kit came with a jumbled mix of tripods that didn't match, like they were thrown together from different kits. OLDER RATING (THEY USED TO BE GOOD): ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've now owned these for 1 year and they're still running strong! I had my doubts because of the other reviews I saw but idk, maybe I got lucky? Mine have been working perfectly. I've been using them on a fairly regular basis and even the original light bulbs are all still working, which: that has honestly surprised me. I just bought another set! The new set all works just fine, though I have noticed that on the newer "model" (I guess), the switches seem different. Not as fluid as the older switches. As in, the newer switches seem like they are "sticky" or just harder to press. Honestly that's not even a big deal, just something I noticed was different from the original kit. Another difference I noticed and something I consider to be an upgrade on the newer kit, is that they use heavier duty tripods for ALL of the lights instead of just the light with the "boom arm." This is a big plus for me, since the older light stands that held the vertical lights seemed to be kind of cheap. The new tightening brackets on the new stands are higher quality as well. They look bulkier and just seem like they'll last a much longer time. The light tones DO match the old light tones exactly, which is a huge plus for me, as I'll be using the new and the old ones in the same space (so I really didn't want two different colors of lights). This is especially essential for my photogrammetry! I use a particular method of photogrammetry that I cam up with that allows me to flip an object in multiple directions and still align perfectly upon processing. The one requirement is that it have even lighting (of the same color) across the entire object. I also love the fact that these, even though they are at a low price, still come with fuses for the light outlet module! So if anything does happen to them, I can most likely just replace the fuse and continue working with them :) But using the fluorescent light bulbs that it comes with, I don't think there's any risk of that happening. You may have to worry about that if you switch out the light bulbs with incandescent bulbsl, which yeah, if you're using these for portrait photography, you'll definitely want to use a full-frame camera to let in that extra light AND you might consider replacing the bulbs with more powerful ones. The bulbs these come with are perfect for product photography, photogrammetry or other stationary subjects where you can have the camera on a tripod and use a slow shutter speed with low ISO. As you can see in the photo, I'm not using the "boom" lights right now, but I switch them in and out all the time depending on what I'm shooting. So I do use them. Summing up (plus additional) Pros and Cons: Pros: - Distributes light evenly - great for product photography, photogrammetry, lighting green screens evenly, etc. - Sturdy build quality, especially with the newer kit. The one I bought 1 year ago was not as sturdy. - Long-lasting light bulbs. - Long lasting light bulb outlet module. - Includes fuses for light bulb outlet module. - Fairly intuitive to put together but it can take time/futzing - I didn't need to read the instructions to figure it out, and I had never (personally) owned a softbox before buying these, though I had worked with some super expensive ones - but those used a different method to put them together. - Even the carrying case seems like a nice quality. I have moved these around a lot and the case still looks like new. - You can easily access the light bulbs from the back, so if one bulb goes out, you don't have to disassemble the entire soft box to change the bulb out (see photos). - You can vent out some of the heat by taping the top flap open (towards the back of the soft box) - just undo the velcro there and pull it open. NOTE: This will also reduce the amount of light coming out of the front by a little bit and I don't think the heat is a big issue. I've kept mine closed for a year and they still work fine. So I'd advise against venting it unless maybe you've switched the bulbs with hotter bulbs. Cons: - I noticed on the new soft boxes, they are a little bit more difficult to put together than the old one. The softbox, even though it's the same size as the older ones, seems a little bit tighter. Give yourself about 2-4 minutes per softbox to get it fully put together. - While the "boom" light IS strong enough to hold the light fully extended, the small bag that is included cannot hold very much. So you can 1. Get some small, heavy lead weights or something to put in that bag or 2. do like I do and use a separate bag (backpack, night-bag, etc) with weights in it. Again, the tripod DOES appear to be strong enough to handle the weight. I have used the boom light fully extended on several occasions with no problems at all, but I do use a night-bag filled with weights instead of the bag that came with the kit. Even though it's got a couple of "cons," for the price, I don't think these can be beat. I did quite a bit of research 1 year ago and even more research this year before purchasing these. They still seem to give you the most wattage-output for your buck. I'm really happy with this purchase and I think that these will last me a really long time :) Extra note: If you're wondering what I've taped onto the front of each soft box, it's a linear polarizing sheet. This allows me to polarize each light so I can use circular polarizing filters on each of my 3 cameras to reduce and almost entirely eliminate reflections on reflective objects. The two images attached show Before (highly reflective, without the use of polarization) and After (with the use of polarization to remove reflections) photos of a highly reflective hammer just to get the idea across. If you're interested in doing something similar, just google "Polarizing sheet" and search for by-the-foot sales. I paid $15/foot. Each soft box will require a 17"x24" sheet. I recommend attaching it with black duct tape, as that has worked well for me. Hope this is helpful!

I was incredibly skeptical about this product. I really wanted to drop way more money on a higher end kit. It was delivered in a very clean storage bag as pictured and as everyone says the instructions were horrible. I couldn't figure out how to get the softboxes put together because the instructions specified a piece of velcro pull out that didn't exist on mine. FYI you basically have to push it into a non visable pocket in the black velcro corners. As I was struggling I was thinking I was going to give this a 1 star review. However once I got it figured out I put them together and the lights, well they are one hell of a deal for what they are. Definitely worth the price!! I'm giving it 5 stars just because for the price it is an absolute knock out. Like others say the materials are obviously very cheap but hey, they work. The bag is nice but like others I have zero plans to ever take the boxes apart, I will just transport them as is to locations.

Buy at your own risk since seller takes no responsibility after earning his profit... Yes. Seller will simply ask you to talk to Fancierstudion US (I'm from India) as he is "just a re-seller". So 1 start to Cart2India. As far as lights are concern, these will solve you purpose of lightening for stills and videos for Youtube or interviews or anything of that matter. Being a US product, it requires much lesser power (110v) and in India you will have to buy a converter otherwise it will damage the lights, so make sure you buy converters before using these lights. Issue: I kept these lights on for 5-10 mins and there's some burning like smell coming out of it. Since these lights are meant for long time usages (no interview can be finished in 5 min and u can't ask ur guy to wait for another 10 mins to get the lights cool down). And for this reason when I contacted Cart2India, there answer was to contact the Fancier studio for any such issue. So now, I am left with no option but to use it with 5-10 mins time and then hold my shoot and wait for lights to come to normal temperature. All in all, lights are good if your shooting time is not much, definitely not good for video shoots where u want those lights to be on for longer hours. Seller, doesn't deserve even one start if he is there only to make profit and leave the buyer in the middle with his problems. Hope this will help you to decide your purchase.

Tarde pero segura mi reseña. Es un excelente kit de iluminación, le da un aspecto de luz profesional a tus videos y fotografía porque sube la calidad. Ya tengo más de 4 años con este kit y me encanta, es duradero y fácil de armar aunque debo decir que algo tardado. Si lo vas a dejar armado en un estudio no hay inconveniente pero si tienes que guardar por espacio cada vez que lo usas te llevara alrededor de 15 min armarlo. Aún así ha sido una excelente compra que no puede faltar en un tu estudio.

Muy buena elección, luces fáciles de instalar, tiene muchos ángulos de movilidad para colocarlas como necesites, no pesan mucho y tienen materiales de buena calidad

Digo estamos hablando de un rango muy económico y obviamente tiene sus limitaciones pero están perfectas incluso para producciones de nivel profesional, bastante estables y siempre y cuando se cuiden pueden durar años, compra obligatoria para film makers principiantes o de bajo presupuesto.
