Will this work for a group 27 battery?

yes it will work for a group 27 battery, but don't order it through Amazon. I ordered it twice, and both times, they sent me half of the box. I don't remember if it was the top or bottom, but they sent me the same half two times. I finally found it at Camping World for $10 cheaper. The same brand of battery box.

So this box is designed to be installed below the deck in a cut-out section and then vented outside the coach, correct?

It can be installed in a cutout, or anywhere inside a cabinet. The round hole in the top is designed for a hose to carry fumes to to the outside. I installed mine under the seating in my truck camper. The hose carries the fumes to a vent I installed in the side of the camper.

The bottom port acts as a drain to prevent accumulation of liquids such as condensation. It does require drilling a hole for the port through the floor. I suppose one could cut off the port and seal the hole, but you would need to check for accumulation of liquids periodically.

Exact fit

I had a group 24 battery box identical to this one I purchased. I wanted to upgrade my RV battery to a group 27. This new M6S 250 battery box fit perfectly in my camper. No alterations were needed to make it work. The lower and upper ventilation holes keep the dangerous battery fumes from accumulating within the camper. The only downside is that the plastic battery box snap rivets were not included with the box.

Top and bottom identical.

Product as described and group 27 battery fit. Top and bottom identical, customers complaint of 2 top or bottom are incorrect.

Battery Box

Not as rigid as my other battery box (different brand). The flanges need to be thicker which would help the mating of the top and bottom and keep them aligned. The “hinge” supplied is a joke. I utilized 4 small clamps (one on each side) to keep the two halves closed tight to each other. That said, it does the job of containing the battery and venting the gasses produced while charging.

I returned both of these Items, received 4 tops and no bottoms. I order them as a quantity of 2. Only received a refund for 1. I see there was a second code sent but I had already returned bot items in the same box they were shipped in. Not very happy.

Battery Box Great quality!!!

This Battery box is very great quality. It was very easy to install. This box is perfect for putting big batteries in. This is actually the second one that we have bought. We decided to buy it again we liked the first one so much. The material on the box is great quality. The price is perfect too!

Works fine. Easy to install. Also, buy your vent hose from the garden department at the BLUE store....not a kit....just go there and get the hose.
