I got these as a recommended brand for DIY and they don't disappoint. The opening of the jaw length is a little fiddly but it clicks into place and holds strongly once you get the width. A great set of grippers and retired my old cheapies which kept slipping after a few years.

Versatile pliers that don’t damage surfaces, which makes it great for chrome radiator fittings etc. that you want to preserve the look of. Very easy to adjust, and you can apply a crazy amount of torque through them. I’ve had them for a long time and they’re holding up well.

Knipex make great pliers but they are expensive, so I thought about this purchase for a while before I finally bought them. I already have 250mm and 300mm water pump pliers and I wanted something a bit smaller to get into tight spaces. I was very surprised just how compact these pliers are, and initially thought they wouldn't be up to the job. In use however they are brilliant, small enough to get in where other water pump pliers or grips can't, but with a decent capacity - the 180mm model I bought fits a 40mm nut. Their strong grip allowed me to undo nuts I didn't expect such a compact tool to manage. The size adjustment gives a range of about 6mm before you have to move to the next notch. It would be nice if this had a bit more movement but this would need a larger and more complex mechanism, so it's a good compromise. Their construction means the harder you push on the handle, the tighter they grip the nut, and there's no danger of their slipping. The parallel jaws are smooth and flat and don't mar brass or chrome fittings, so much nicer than pipe grips. Adjusting the pliers to the required size is a little fiddly, but no more so than regular pipe grips or adjustable spanners. They don't slip, keeping their size setting until you want to change. This is a real advantage over adjustable spanners that seem to need to be tightened constantly. You can also ease off on the handles and let them slip as you undo or tighten the nut, a bit like a ratchet spanner. This really speeds up working, especially if you can't see what your doing. Although these are called 'Pliers Wrench' they are most useful as a truly useable adjustable spanner, that happens to be a good pair of pliers too. These have replaced a set of spanners in my tool box. They aren't the cheapest around, but offer good value when you consider the cost and space savings you can make by not needing a full set of spanners. They are much better than water pump pliers and don't cut up the work piece. Definitely recommended.

I've replaced so many spanners with just this one tool. The quality from Knipex is absolutely there. Super simple to use once you figure out the pressure required to depress the button enough to get the tool to adjust. I have no doubts that they will last forever! I've used it on my espresso machine and faucets that have finishes that you don't want scratched or marred up. You don't have to worry about that with this tool. I've also yet to encounter any slipping at all!

These have taken me a while to get used to. They are great for some applications but I wont be throwing away my short 5 hole style ones. Great for SWA and similar gland nuts, electrical bushes and lock rings plus compression plumbing fittings as you can really get a good hold of the sides without scarring where a toothed set of grips would. They can be a bit finicky if you're changing between sizes, say 15-22 compression or 20-25 electrical but once set they're great.

Knipex quality is worth the pricing power. Others copy but very few compete. Highly recommend.

Wir haben uns für diesen Zangenschlüssel entschieden, da wir von Knipex bisher nicht enttäuscht wurden. Es gibt sicherlich billigere aber dafür (oft) schlechtere. Wir betonen an dieser Stelle, dass billiger nicht immer schlechter ist, aber bei Werkzeug legen wir großen Wert auf Qualität. Oftmals nutzen sich bei schlechtem Werkzeug die Wangen schnell ab, die Griffummantelung löst sich ab oder auf, die Rasten der Einstellung werden schnell abgenutzt oder dergl. Bei Knipex hatten wir dies bisher nicht. Auch der Zangenschlüssel macht einen soliden Eindruck. Die Verstellung funktioniert sehr gut und lässt sich ohne hackeln bedienen. Die Griffe sind stabil ummantelt und bieten guten Halt. Das Material scheint (bis jetzt) auch der gewohnten Qualität zu entsprechen. Diesen Zangenschlüssel können wir empfehlen. Diese Bewertung wird zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt ergänzt, falls wir bei normaler Nutzung zu starke Abnutzung oder andere Schwächen entdecken sollten.
