Works great to glue detached soles from shoes!
My favorite Timberland boat shoes have this unfortunate tendency to have the rubber soles come off - about half of them do this eventually. Shoe Goop had long been the glue I used to re-attach the soles, but it wasn't very good, mainly because it took too long to dry and the bond wasn't very strong - while it was drying it also had a tendency to let the sole slide around out of position. Anyway, this stuff worked great. It dries very fast, and the sole stuck on and stayed in place immediately. I put some clamps and compression on and the glue was dry by the next day. Haven't tested the durability much yet, I'll re-post if the sole comes off. This is a VERY FAST DRYING elastic cement! It is not really a contact cement, and in any case I've never found contact cements to work like they are supposed to (apply to both sides, let dry partially, then clamp the two parts). In my experience, the cement bond for alleged contact cements usually fail if you let the two sides dry even partially, and so it is really always better to just clamp immediately. The instructions in the video on this webpage may be from Angelus, but if you follow those instructions, they are going to make it highly likely that the bond fails! Do NOT let the two sides dry! Clamp immediately after applying the glue to both sides! So, ignore all these low rating reviews posted by glue newbies who were probably following the video instructions and just don't know any better. Correction to the Addendum: 12/1/2024 Well, I said I would re-post if the sole came off again from the Timberland shoes, and, what do you know, I got my left - right mixed up and it turned out that it was the left shoe, which had never been glued, that had half the sole peel off. The right shoe was the one that had the sole come half off, and was the one I glued with this Angelus Cement back in February. And that sole is STILL INTACT! So, apologies to Angelus for the mistake. I did glue the sole of the left shoe with Barge's Cement, and so now I have a reference for comparison between the two. Back to a five star rating. Addendum #2: More of the left sole of this shoe started separating. I think this was in a part of the sole that had not separated yet, so it's not the Barge's Cement. Anyway, I spot glued this part of the sole with the Angelus cement and it is doing fine.

Angelus knows shoes!
This stuff works!! Sadly the shoes i was trying to save were beyond repair but I tested this on them anyway. I find this to perform a bit better than barge cement for simple shoe repair and the brush being smaller really helps with application. You still need to be creative when applying in tight areas but in terms of bond quality alone, this was well worth the price. Angelus knows shoes and leather.

Great glue and sealant
I wasn't sure this was going to work for my particular application, but, it worked great! I had recovered the heel of my boot with suede strips that had chunked off (the boots are very old) and I needed to seal the heel to match the other boot heel which was smooth and shiny. This did the trick and it looks great! I'll get another 2 years out of these boots now! It dried quickly too!

Torture tested
I've tried several glues so far. This one held for two months of dry weather and then one month of wet weather before separating. Other glues I tried, stuff in tubes, lasted at most a week or two. I didn't sand surfaces much, so I recommend sanding with larger grit and roughing surfaces up really well. I live on a mountainside full of those famous Pennsylvania rocks, so I really torture shoes on rough, wet, rocky slopes a lot, and my three months use probably would be a lot longer for most people. It tears apart very gradually, starting at the outside edge. A second application on the outside edge was done on one shoe, which was un-beautiful, and milky colored where it's thicker. That shoe shows no separation yet, while the other shoe began to separate at the outside edges at first, then came apart. As the glue or its vapors will melt rubber bands use a polyethylene bag over the shoe before applying them.

One time use
Works great, but just like several other reviews when I went to use it the second time it was unusable, turned solid. Glad I didn't buy the 30.5 fl oz. for $47 for one time use!

This Stuff Means Business — Sandals Saved!
When they said cement, they weren’t kidding! I had a pair of sandals with decorative jewels all around the edges, and the front part started coming loose. I used this Angelus Clear Shoe Cement, and it worked like magic. Application was easy, and once it dried, the sandals looked good as new — no visible glue marks and everything held firmly in place. Weeks later, they’re still going strong with zero signs of coming apart. If you’re looking for a heavy-duty, clear-drying fix for shoes or accessories, this stuff delivers. Highly recommend for repairs that actually last!

Not suitable to our purposes
Probably good for modern highly structured shoes. Not good for handmade leather shoes. We wanted something to reliably adhere flexible leather soles to flexible leather uppers - this shoe cement is not sufficient. It doesn't withstand the kind of movement that "grounding" shoes allow. In this application, it could be used as a temporary fixative while you're stitching. It is flexible even when dry, but doesn't hold up to lots of movement. Yes, it does smell - don't use it in an enclosed space. I was also a little disappointed with the texture/stickiness. It seems to dry out in the container very fast; also there seems to be a lot of air space in the container (i.e. the container has less glue and more air in it than I expected).

Ça faisait un bout que je cherchais une bonne colle contact, mais rien de bon dans les grandes surfaces alors j'ai trouvé cette colle pour chaussures et wow ça colle en titi et c'est très solide.

Originally I gave this product four stars but with the benefit of the passage of time I have altered my review to five stars. I used the glue on a decent pair of leather soled shoes and the glue worked well but I was unsure about the durability. I’m happy to report that after wearing the shoes for several weeks in difficult conditions the glue is still holding up. In the absence of any other glue I used this to glue some plastic hooks to a upvc window frame and it worked perfectly. Very happy with this product and will definitely use again
