You might have to crimp the hook part of the fas-snap so the snap-swivel can hold them firmly. Tie them on while still on the snap-swivel. It will make your life a lot easier.I bought the small version to use for fly fishing. These things are tiny, which they have to be in order to fit the small hole in a fly properly. I lost the first one somewhere on the hardwood floor in the living room. The loop in the fas-snap for the line wasn't entirely closed and the fas-snap jumped off and disappeared. With the second one, I used the forceps I keep in my fishing vest to crimp the loop, and then hold onto the fas-snap while I tied the knot. When I was done with that, I got out a snap swivel and put the remaining three on it. Still haven't found the one that jumped onto the floor, but it probably settled in the seam between floorboards.Went out in the morning on Memorial Day and started out with my spinning and baitcasting rods, but no luck. Switched to my fly rod and a big popper. The fas-snap hooked up great. So much quicker than tying a knot. It was a bit of an unusual day for me because that was the only fly I used all day, so I didn't do the usual swapping out or losing flies. Still, this little thing held onto that popper through three or four pumpkinseed and bluegill, a four pound bass and a whole bunch of smaller bass. And, oh yeah, three or four snags. It was a great trip and I'm going to be using these for a long time. That is, assuming I don't lose them in my tackebox or vest.Not sure why these things are so expensive, comparatively. I am using these to change out lead jig heads and top water hard baits for saltwater fishing trout and redfish. I haven't had any break-offs and I haven't lost any lures. I would recommend using snap-ring pliers to snap it on the first time, but it gets easier after the first time.
