## Description

Allen & Heath's ZED-18 has an incredibly advanced feature-set for a mixer at this level. It gives musicians, venues and hire companies access to 10 full mono channels and 4 stereo channels in a compact, rack mountable format. Configurable USB audio in/out makes it easy to capture stereo recordings. The ZED-18 features 18 inputs comprised of 10 mono and 4 stereo channels. The mono inputs provide high quality microphone preamps and three-band EQ. The ZED-18 features a USB connector for direct integration with Mac and Windows computers, and a copy of Sonar LE recording software is included. ZED-18 features a responsive 3-band, swept mid frequency EQ design which utilizes MusiQ - with optimized slope (or Q factor) for equalizing individual instruments. Inserts on all mono channels and stereo output provide flexible routing and control to outboard processors, effects, monitors, etc. The main output section features a pair of balanced XLR connectors. Allen & Heath is known for building high quality mixers for the last 40-plus years. At any time of day or night, across the globe, there is an Allen & Heath mixer out there working hard, sounding great and making life a little easier for the person at the controls.

This brand stuck out with me for quality and price. We use it for recording and live productions. The sound is phenomenal and very easy to work with. We have got great compliments on our sound since installing.
Review: Forget the USB interface and this thing is a solid performer - Except for the old USB 2.0 interface, this is a great piece of gear. I tried the USB interface to push a live mix into Logic X with inconsistent results. Search on the web and you'll find tons of complains about random crackling and static noise ---- digital distortion, perhaps, ruining an otherwise great mixer in the ZED series. Thunderbolt of USB 3.0 has to happen when they update this lineup. Won't help me with this version, though. Reasonable feature set at this price point for 18 channels (10 mono, 4 stereo). I'm using it at a keyboard mixer for vintage synths and outboard effects. Too bad, like most things it's made in China. Vintage Brit and American gear would be better sound, but higher maintenance and not as feature-rich.

## Features

- DuoPre XLR Microphone preamps, including 48V Phantom power for condenser microphones and up to 69dB of gain. Each preamp uses two gain stages to provide a full and accurate sound across the entire gain range with enough power for even the most gain hungry mics.
- A 100Hz High Pass Filter on every mono input allows unneeded low frequencies to be removed, then the 3-band MusiQ EQ with swept mid frequency uses carefully selected frequencies to ensure your sound sculpting is always musical. Cut or boost highs and lows with shelving EQ and use the mid frequency selection to choose exactly where to adjust the mid frequencies, especially useful for vocals, guitar and other instruments with a rich mid-range.
- Two ‘Pre-Fade’ Auxiliary outputs enable separate mixes to be sent to monitor speakers or any feeds that require a mix of channels independent of the main mix. Another two ‘Post-Fade’ Auxiliary outputs sends signal at a level which follows the send level to the main mix, ideal for use with external FX units, feeds to subwoofers or creating a mix for streaming or recording.
- A routable stereo-in stereo-out USB connection makes it easy to record the whole main mix or just the channels you need and enables a stereo return from the connected device to be routed back to the mix. It’s also class compliant and does not require drivers, meaning not just Mac and Windows computers can be connected, but also many mobile devices such as tablets or even smart phones.
- Optional rack ear kit [ZED1802-RK19] securely fits the mixer into a standard 19” rack or flight case.

Very nice upgrade from a Yamaha brand mixer board. Lightning struck our Yamaha and we had to find a replacement. This brand stuck out with me for quality and price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ exellent mixer.

I really like this mixer. My old 16 channel yamaha mixer gave up on me and I wanted something similar and I went for this mixer. Its exellent. Anyone who is looking to buy a pro mixer this is it. One thing though....you have to buy the ear racks separate.
