would this make the double bed more Comfortable to sleep on with this ??

These are designed to replace slat ends which have perished. Slats usually fall out of place making the bed uneven. If this is your problem I can vouch that these replacements work very well and are easy to install. Measure your bed carefully.

Is this item suitable for cast iron beds? and i have 14 slats not 16 so would be too long. is there a way it will work? thank you. janet

Hi You can use on Iron beds but you will need to find a way to secure to ensure they dont move, possibly using industrial velcro You can simply cut off the last 2 opening on the rubber and then centralise Sandy

would these work for 45mm wide slats?

My slats were 60mm and worked fine I think 45 mm would be secure once all in place.

are these strips suitable to take 2 slats down the centre of a steel frame of a king size bed ?

I've got to be totally honest. When they arrived I thought "what a waste of money". But I had to fix the bed so tried using the stripe and they are perfect. Size in this case definitely doesn't matter. What is important is that the fixing down each side of the bed are firm.
