Like any chrome surface though, over time the chrome plating will come off eventually. I've had mine for about six months now (I think?) and I'm not easy/gentle on my stuff...it still looks great, though the "PARKER" insignia wore off very, very quickly (cheaply printed on the handle). It's just my experience, but I thought it might help if someone is looking for a great brush that will last. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lives up to its price *by P***O on September 26, 2011* Let me start by saying that this 100% Silver-tip Badger Hair Bristle Brush is expensive, more so than many other brushes. A typical more affordable brush will have a construction that's just enough to get by, the bristles won't be very dense and they won't have the length that others do. This results in a brush that can't get that rich, luxurious lather that one such as this one can, and it also ends up with a brush that's prone to falling apart. This brush is everything you should expect in a brush, it is quite literally the "full package". It is a luxury product, and considering that, it is actually priced very well within reason. The bristles are as soft was the lather they apply, putting the brush against your eard will feel entirely pleasant. The bristle density is terrifically perfect. You can see this when you hang your brush to dry and the bristles spread out in a plume badger-hair. This density means that the lather will be well done, and your soap will go further. You can use less of it to create the same amount or more lather. This actually helps to offset some of that cost that you may be concerned about. The chrome handle is heavy and beautiful, something that looks like a classy decoration upon your bathroom counter. As others have said, the "free shaving stand" is worth everything you paid for it. In other words, it's a piece of junk. I could make a better looking, better quality stand out of Popsicle sticks and scotch tape. So don't count on that stand to do anything for you. And on the topic of stands, the brush handle is a tiny bit wider than the standard brush handle width at some points. It's not exactly circular, though...rather, it's a slight oval. Nothing you could pick out by looking at it, though. The only reason I mention it is because this means that the brush will only fit into typical stands one way, and that way seems to be with the logo facing out (although this could just be coincidence, not sure if they do this deliberately or not). It isn't a problem, but it's something that you should know. Overall, I highly recommend this brush. It is worth the money if you consider having a really good shave something worthwhile. It isn't a necessity, you could get by with a cheaper one.
