With the exception of the plug in the end, it appears to be milled aluminum and steel. Not some die-cast junk that will break the first time you use it. It's also CONSIDERABLY less costly than similar tools from other brands. There's no reason to pay $30-50 for something like this just because it's a niche tool.Final thought...it wouldn't have hurt my feelings if the magnet responsible for holding the in-use bit in place was a bit stronger.
